Route to Raigad Fort
Hey!
A few of us are planning a ride + trek to Raigad fort tomorrow. Some research on maps has shown me that I can get there via the Tamhini ghat road, or the Varandha ghat. The route through Tamhini Ghat is shorter than the one through Varandha. I'm looking for updates on the condition of both roads so that I can decide which route to take. I dont mind taking the longer route if the condition of the road is significantly better. So if any of you guys have been on either of these two routes recently, I'd really appreciate your inputs. Please help me out!
Cheers! The more you know, the more you know how less you know.
The less you know, the more you think you really know!

I attended a g2g in Pune after years I guess.
All 'I' did was talk about bikes and riding.... and trust me I was not speaking to myself... People were listening to me, maybe not all, but yes I was happy that I did what i came for, why worry about what others are talking about?
If anyone is complaining about non-biking discussion, I would request him to come to a g2g and start a discussion on biking aspects.
i can assure you that if you speak sense atlest a handful people will listen to you.
Try it...

Hi all,
Just had couple of doubts, Im still not confirmed on this plan but might execute it if time permits. Is Pune - Ahmedabad doable in one day? consider this to be a weekend plan, sat going sunday coming back.
Pune, Maharashtra to Ahmedabad Railway Station - Google Maps thats the map, how are the road conditions? considering 700kms one way, 1400 total, Rs 3000 fuel. I want to know the road conditions and fuel pumps enroute.sigpic

2. you would have to cover Mumbai well in time, or the traffic there would eat up half of your time. For that try to cover it before the daily commute starts.
3. Mumbai to Vadodra, its like NH4. You can cruise at high speeds. Through out availability of petrol bunks on the way.
4. You can't take the speedway from Vadodra to Ahmedabad, there is a alternate route and not so great road but not pathetic.
Rest you can check with Vyom, he is leaving for Ahmedabad this Friday.Ride On,
Akshat

Eshan - We did that route in a day during our trip to Rann of Kutch. We left from Dehuroad around 4 - 4:30 and were in Mumbai by 6:30.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostHi all,

Post mumbai the roads are awesome and lot of Petrol pumps, you might get tired of accelerating as there is hardly any obstacles on the way. Beware of heavy traffic at Baruch....try to sneak your way out. Before / by sunset you can reach Ahmedabad.
