I revisited the first page, and reconfirmed that I have/qualify for everything mentioned there, except for complete riding gears. I have only a helmet, gloves n shoes at the moment. Will that do for this Sunday's ride?

Like Siddharth said, you can borrow necessary riding gear. Without knee guard/riding pant and elbow guard/riding jacket, you will not be permitted to join the ride. If you wish to borrow gear, please post it here. Co-ordinate with the lender to pick it up and drop it back.

It would also be better if you can attend at least one offline G2G (get together). It usually happens each Wednesday and will be happening tonight at Hotel Grubshup. It will give you an idea of guys who you will be riding with and whether you are comfortable with them. It helps instead of just joining in for the ride. Again there is no contribution / membership fee for attending offline G2G. Of course, you can again decide to donate some large amount to our admin relief fund

Yes, I'm planning to buy a pair of knee and elbow guards pretty soon, but I'm not fully sure if I'll be able to get these by this Sunday necessarily. If not I'll borrow them for now.
While I also intend to buy a proper riding jacket (have the SPG Helios in mind, right now) eventually, I'd like to defer it for a month or so... (I'm almost bankrupt after purchasing my ZMR in cash )
Till then I'll make do with a thick Woodlands winter jacket that I have. It's surely not a biking/riding jacket per se, but backed by an elbow guard, it'll more than suffice for now!

Any suggestions/recommendations for the elbow & knee guards would be really great! Since I'm tight on budget, I think I'll have to forget the bionic ones

You will need knee guards and riding jacket. I have extra pair of knee guard (the velcro of straps is gone... but can be used once or twice) so if you fine with it let me know i will get it for G2G.... For jacket ask someone in the thread to lend for the ride.... If you can purchase both by Sunday then well and good.. otherwise for this ride you may borrow and enjoy the ride with us.

I have an extra pair of elbow guards but I guess if you get a good jacket, using the guards would be redundant.

Given my present bank balances, I think I'll pass the offer to donate to the "admin relief fund" this time.
I'll try my best to make it to Grubshup tonight, but can't confirm. Also, who do I meet once I'm there? Neither do I don't know anyone, nor would anyone know me! If it's not a problem, please PM me your number, so that I have at least one contact for tonight and Sunday!

As far as the question of whether I'll be comfortable with the group or not goes, I'm pretty positive I'll be! I'm already very touched and impressed with the warm welcome extended to me and the helpful and friendly nature of the members here! We don't want him to run off from the first G2G and/or ride itself.

I'll try my best to make it to Grubshup tonight, but can't confirm. Also, who do I meet once I'm there? Neither do I don't know anyone, nor would anyone know me!

Precisely why you should turn up at the offline G2G. At least see the faces once. Just look at a group of 8-10 guys shooting breeze and a collection of helmets / jackets. That would be out group.

If it's not a problem, please PM me your number, so that I have at least one contact for tonight and Sunday!

I will advise take [MENTION=29781]siddarth[/MENTION]_ZMR's offer for knee guard and get some good pair of gloves with the fund. That wil last longer. For entry level, you can look up for cramster.
