Hello brothers, I need a quick help , I found a deal which sounds too good to be true so just need to confirm with you guys if this looks genuine, I came across an Irish guy from Mumbai who has imported a Ducati Panigale 1199 from Hamburg, Germany and not used it yet, now this guy wants to sell it to me for 3.5 lacks which sounds mouth watering :-P he claims that he has cleared it from customs and all the paper work is authentic but the bike is still not registered to anyone, he has also sent me scanned copy of the invoice from Ducati and the customs clearance receipts, so shall I go ahead with the deal, I can upload the invoice here if someone can tell me it looks authentic or not. Please let me know about it asap as I'm already drooling with the thought of owning that beast for a mere 3.5 l

Have you asked him why he wants to sell a bike whose customs duty itself is 6.5L? May be you should contact someone with experience in dealing with imported bikes in Mumbai.

He said his services in India are terminated and he'll have to go back to his country songs cannot afford to ship it back, which sounds a bit fishy to me

Even I think the same but is there a way to find out if those invoices and customs receipt are legit?

I have never seen an imported bike invoice so cannot say anything. My concern regarding the invoice : It has no dealer name and usually an authentic invoice whether in India or abroad has the words TAX INVOICE printed on it. And if the bike is from Germany why is everything in English? I doubt anyone here can tell you whether the receipts/invoices are genuine or not by looking at the images.. Is it possible for you to go to the customs office and actually check since you have the receipt number and everything. Just take a print and check.

That sounds good, probably I can check it by calling them with the receipt info

I might be wrong, but by looking at images carefully, I think that the images are edited and not genuine.
I am not an expert in image editing but with my limited experience I am pretty sure about this one.

Also there doesn't seem to be any company as StarTrek Courier Services. I can't find any website of theirs. Also the waybill doesn't have a clearly mentioned tracking number.

I called up that agent and realised it was indeed a fraud as she told me to deposit 50 grand in her account without which I cannot even take a test ride, that says it all that it's not genuine.

                        Hey all!
I recently changed the engine oil in my FZ-S from recommended Yamalube to one of the Castrol's. I'd like to review it in detail. Which forum on xbhp is most suitable for this write up?

Complete scam. The OLX site seems to be full of such similar ads.

Haha.. Even I had contacted this stupid 'agent' for a Ducati 848 evo for 3 lacs. She told me the same thing to deposit 50 grand without even getting to see the bike. And on protesting, the lady said that she's too busy and there are many customers waiting.

Hi Nikhil try the dedicated engine oil thread http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...-oils-884.html. or the YAMAHA FZ ownership thread.

                                Need some help..

My brother has purchased a new bike which I would be using for a couple of months..(we live together)
                                Some doubts about this..
                                1. The bike has a temporary registration number.. Is there any restriction on the number of days till which I can use it before getting the number registered from the RTO?
                                2. Is there any restriction on the number of km we can use the bike with the temporary number?
                                3. What all documents do I need to keep with me to avoid hassles with the police?

Any other information would also be appreciated..
                                Thanks..
