Hi TenHut as you know bout my bikes rear brakes problemOriginally posted by TenHut View Post
is this a joke ?
ok guys listen up. Tomorrow I am planning to go to Lavasa !
Now I am entering dangerous waters here by sayin that. But its about time we let go of the past and as long as we have a sane head on our shoulders not every corner out there is wanting to kill you.
Whoever wants to join is welcome but I just wanna mention the following points below :
1. Gear = absolute must. No one will send u home but I shall cancel my ride to lavasa. Dont wanna be involved in gearless group rides.
2. Please be carefull at lavasa and at its approach roads. We all have done them a zillion times but surprises are surprises for a reason. You never know of them before. There could be a twig in the road...a big ****in tree..or just some plain gravel to give you that 'balls in my mouth' moment.
3. There are a million blind turns and blind turns ought to be treated with an off throttle. Theres no other way to take them. Right wrist bravado IS NOT the way to tackle any corner let alone a blind corner.
4. Sagar would be riding with us...i have requested him to lead us if the need be...if u got ego issues with this kind of arrangement refrain from riding tomorrow. We need a pair of good eyes which dont just rip; resulting in panic and heavy brakign for all the riders following behind
5. Take these points seriously and I promise Lavasa is a lot of fun. Lavasa is punes very own Mullholland Highway ...lets treat it with respect and all shall be fine.
If no one turns up me and Sagar are riding for sure. We assemble at CC at 6 am and expect to set the wheels rolling towards lavasa by 6:15 am
Hope to see many riders there...
i have to get rid of it tommorow.
So is it feasible to postpone this ride on sunday or arrange another one o0n sunday

coz i want to be a part of it

lol no...something as simple as this happens all the time.Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostIs the video a deliberate attempt/dramatised?
Target fixation, too soon on the throttle, using the wrong brake is one of the most common errors. On superbikes these errors are amplified by a factor of 10. I do these mistakes on the Ninja all the time without even realising it. Smaller bikes are a lot more forgiving indeed but it still does happen to any bike.
So much of effort and u wont even be able to ride. Why dont u join us in for our next ride to lavasa...should be next weekend. Your call..Originally posted by dineshsamtani View PostHEHE i know buddy...if possible, i would reach home from work at 1:30 ish, have dinner and leave in a volvo or some other mean at 3 and try to be there at 6. Yep...although I am a little worried about riding the RR there I am gonna be riding it tomorrow. Just gotta be suuuupaaaar carefull.Originally posted by inder.cool View Post@ Rohan: If you are going on the CeeBeeaaR then i am coming..!! Lemme know..
Btw, u guys didnt see this..
YouTube - Motorcycle Crash - Rider Thrown Over Guardrail on Mulholland Hwy
dont read the comments on youtube..it had nothign to do with downshifting...many of them are from ppl who dont understand a shit about riding. They just sit behind their screens and type. Some of them are riders ofc but its hard to know from whom the comment is coming from. The rider in that vid did nothing but stopped looking into the turn..he started looking at the railing..the speed wasnt much so really no reason to crash...its the target fixation that did him in( after which he hit front brakes...when in a turn if u hit the front ur bike stands up and ends up going stright) ...even pros target fixate ...at CSS our Coach Andy Ibbott crashed once...and i heard somewhere someone saying it was due to target fixation. Crashing is normal...learning from the crash is the most important part.Originally posted by !_Devil_Jin_! View Posti didn't understand the vid. Did the rider put the bike into neutral while shifting down??
What is the problem ? I dont know about it. We can ride again on Sunday yeah...or then next weekend too...Originally posted by rishabhshukla14 View PostHi TenHut as you know bout my bikes rear brakes problem

Hey Rohan thanks for the vids....indeed they have a lot to teach....and we do have a lot more to learn...Keep 'em coming....
And congo buddy for touching 200 on the great R...do understand that your heart might be pumping faster than the four cylinders pumping in the bike....
And also do understand that its hard to control your wrist when you have 4 cylinders and 600 odd cc's under ur butt
....but do Ride safe buddy....
Hope you guys enjoy ur ride to Lavasa....will be waiting for the pics...

Isnt it the same way you crashed in your first ride at Amby?Originally posted by !_Devil_Jin_! View Posti didn't understand the vid. Did the rider put the bike into neutral while shifting down??
Thats my guess, but am damn sure that its the same thing that had happened to you too.
I had also been in same situations, but my braking was better i guess, so no crashes, touchwood
But I had learned for better, now I keep my eyes fixed on the white strip, the road surface & the on-coming traffic, only.Last edited by spiderweb; 03-20-2010, 01:55 AM.

First 2 simply seem like lack of concentration while riding , 3 rd one , I doubt if that can happen on indian bikes. But yes , its always good to be careful about these kind of errors to avoid crashes.
(BTW , Why do the vids seem to be staged or these guys are newbies on big bikes in a big group meet)sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk
