I am not coming to MahaB. Wife has banned me from riding out of Pune. I will obviously come for the party since it is free.

@Vishwas, don't worry about the schedule of Leh trip. Try for 3 weeks leave and if not settle for 2 weeks leave. I am sure there is more than you in the group who cannot afford 3 weeks.

There's won't be any huge problem with the Ninja on that terrain except for the ground clearance of 135mm. This again won't be a big hinderance (unless you plan to do Marsimek La) if you drive carefully. Worst case, you will replace the under body cowl after the trip.

Ask leave from whom? Myself? I run my own business so have to answer myself about long absence. There is no underbody cowl in Ninja. It is part of the fairing itself. I have arranged for a FZ and an Avenger but am bit reluctant to take someone's bike and thrashing it in stones and gravel.

I am down with flu so will not be able to attend G2G if held today. Tomorrow depends on my condition.

In all seriousness guys ! The RR had a mighty crash and it remains to be seen if it can be salvaged ! I have never felt as shitty as this, EVER !

It was a combination of my mistake along with the mistake of a Hyundai Santro that lead to the sad demise the bike.

While the Santro and I were trailing a State Transport Bus, we lay side by side to each other ( some prefer calling this 'parallel'). At liesure speeds of about 50 kmph riding parallel to the car didnt occur to me as a dangerous situation.

The Car changed its mind and decided to over-take the Bus that it had been trailing all this while. Now with me onto the rightside of the car there was no other way for the car to shift lanes to overtake the bus but through knocking me off. The only way was to push me out onto the oncoming lane and make space for the overtaking manouver.

Seeing a car suddenly turning into me I honked like mad but at the same time started shifting lanes to my right compulsively. Very soon I found myself onto an oncoming lane. RIDER ALERTS were sounded by my brain and in no time I found myself starring into the grill of an Eicher Truck

Head On collision ! Thats it guys thats my story ! Did I learn anything from the accident ? Absofukcinlutely nothing ! Thats the sad part. Had I crashed it in a corner or something, I would have known what is to be done the next time and what isnt to be.
But how in the hell do I avoid riding parallel to cars on our roads ? It is something that we all have to do at one point or the other and our mistake is pardoned for 9 out of 10 times. But there can be this one time where the car may lose its marbles and decide to push you into the oncoming traffic.

Was it my mistake ? Yes ofcourse...thats the worst part. When the car started cornering me I should I braked to slow down and gotten back behind the car. Had I done that all would have been well !
So thats the only thing I can remember to do next time and consider that as a lesson to be learnt.
1. Never ride parallel to a car.
2. If you absofukcinlutely must ride parallel then brake out of the situation. Dont accelerate out of the situation.
3. You dont wear gear and you wont live to tell the story !

The good news is the 600 is gonna be my track bike now
I was hesitant to turn it into a track bike earlier as I didnt wanna abuse it. But looks like it didnt want the Ninja to be honoured with the track.

Hey I am desperate for Leh ride but taking a 21 day off is extremely difficult. For an employed person, it is much easier than a self employed person.
Secondly, lot of people have advised me not to take ninja to Leh so first searching for alternate bike. Let me get back to you in 3-4 days.

Also note that devenpd is also keen for Leh ride.

Leh can be done in 17 days as per the plan, 21 days are for people who are riding all the way from Mumbai/Pune.

Why you not taking Ninja, it'll actually do better than all other bikes. It'll be an effortless ride with 250..

How about somewhere in koregaon park? I think someone told me if the G2G is tomorrow then rohit wont able to attend the same.
