Has anyone heard anything about dirt bikes being launched in India anytime soon ?
I am really wanting one now and need some pointers on this. If you know anyone whos got a dirt bike, on-off bike, or a dualsport bike pls lemme know.

can anyone throw some light on what a suzuki shogun 110cc engine was like. It was during the the times when I wasnt in India so i dont know shit about it.

suzuki shogun(ktm exc 125) - xBhp Classifieds : Buy & Sell

shogun was launched way back in 1996 a 2 stroke engine 108 cc with a 14bhp power the most powerful 2 stroke of those times, in direct competition with the Rx100, it is a high performance machine which had a mileage of 26 if you ride insanely and the speedo used to climb steadily till 115. the best thing about the bike was that it used to smooth even in 4th gear when you are at a speed of 20km/hr.

If you say at the lower end it used to beat the old pulsars and cbz comfortably.It used to come with factory fitted racing exhaust. the entire bike parts like the handle bar, tank, frame, engine used to come black powder coated.

The bike lacked in normal braking as compared to the Rx100 but won through its engine braking, in fact if you like a engine which can fly then its one kinda as it was lighter than the Rx100.

EDIT : Spare parts are a issue, as my friend has one and he has to procure the engine parts from kolhapur

Good on you Shrinath, my wingman ! So its a 2 stroke so its gonna be fuming gases all over the road ! Now thats a turn off ! Spare parts being an issue is also a big turn off. But the bike is modded well and i plan to import DT forks for it to be real offroader ! Thats a turn on !

Firstly dont import anything now, use it and then you see do you really need it than you invest for the forks.

if you wanna buy for offroading that make sure your rear shocks are new and the spring is properly oiled as you gonna do off roading as i had good amount of experiences where the rear used to go up faster and to be frank i never had any issues with my fork or front shocks for the entire 7 years.

The only issue is the foot pegs vibrate a bit once you cross 90, but that i think was resolved in the last batch,but the growl of shogun makes you feel to forget everything, just make sure the tyre, exhaust and rear shocks are original not modified as many people did it for mileage


Also check if the engine is overhauled and if the original piston is replaced with SAM pistons then its useless as their quality is D Grade and it breaks down very easily, I had experienced once so avoided it then i used the ART piston, which is really a performer under high revs and temperature though its hard to find but worth it.
EDIT : Please check if the oil pump issue is not there as if not serviced properly than shogun eats oil like mad and you will have to carry a oil can with you
