lavasa is a holy cornering heaven to be paid a visit by any xbhpian .

On a serious note, as specified by sharan, every sunday, people leave from chandni chowk at 6.30 to 7 am and reach the lavasa gates at arround 8. we do the usual stuff till 11 and then start returning. If anyone misses the grouping at the bottom, they can join in at the top any-time.
Around 5-6 xbhpians turn up at lavasa (to pay their holy visits) every sunday and sometimes even on saturday.

I will be going there this sunday and hence i will put a message on friday to all who want to join in

btw, are you subscribed to the sms channel?

Make sure that your battery breather pipe doesn't tangle with your rear wheel. It tangling with front wheel is acceptable because it has not happened yet.

Well I'll most probably goto Kaas coz of the visual appeal of the full fledged flowers in the valley. I've been to Lavasa around 10 times now. Yes it's a cornering heaven as I did it quite a no. of times with my FZ n twice on my TB.

Regarding the inclusion, I've already PM'd NV for that. Haven't received any confirmation from him till now.

Was it your ninja that I saw at PBK yesterday at 5pm? I was there till 6.20

@Ayushkant I think the guy swent to Kaas like 10 days back. Not many will be willing to join. My bike doesn't have a rear brake. Will try to get that rectified before weekend as I am dying to ride out. No ride since SIE. Maybe I will join you for kaas if possible. I have never been there you see.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

My ninja's work was finished around 3.30 and was shifted to basement. I reached PBK around 6.30 and was there till 8. Another black ninja was getting workover.

Why do you need a rear brake? You are not supposed to use it.

              • Motul 5100

After ~7k kms, two times engine oil change.....I feel Motul 5100 is the most overhyped and overpriced oil....

For the first time in my life, I feel a little respect for Castrol...not for its usage but for being the second worst....!

Anyone who uses some other semi synthetic oil in XW50...???

                • @ Rockrz - why dont you fix up your breather pipe issue for once and all, if your SVC chaps or local mechanic cant identify the issue please PM me as i think this breather pipe issue is pulling up like a chewing gum.

@ Pads - I look in the front while riding, Its you who forgets that his bike is controlled due to his rear break in case of sudden braking and due to your short term memory loss you leave the same and accelerates at the same time and then you bang out.

You are correct in that its not a place that Ninja should go. But then this road is about 10 times better than NH17 after Mangalore. In India, you cannot say when you will end up on such a road. The Ninja, if carefully ridden, can certainly handle this (its out of it element here, but it can take it). I didnt buy the Ninja to do this, I bought it so that I could tour on it. It was a dream to ride on the rest 80% of the roads.

And you know I dont even ride the Ninja when I am drunk

                        • There is a particular word by which test riders are referred on the track, does any one knows the word? and secondly like in F1 we have pit stops what we have on a bike racing track is called, where all things are checked? and how many kms is one lap on the race track?

                          • @Saad, the other day the issue was with the front brake. Now I have a problematic rear.

@Vishwas, you are not the 1st one to tell me I should never use the rear brake. But I will give you a few scenarios when you have to use it.

                            1. You are scratching your nose with your right hand (inserting the hand inside the helmet through the opened visor) and a dog jumps in front. You urgently have to brake just to slow down. What do you do?

                            2. You feel like sneezing while riding your bike and your right hand involuntarily comes towards the helmet. During the sneeze, your eyes close momentarily and you feel like pulling over to the left to recover during the sneeze + eyes closed moment. What do you do to slow down?

                            3. You are hand-signalling a right while closing in to a right turn behind a car. The car brakes, but you cannot(as your right hand was not on the handlebar).

                            4. You have to cold-start a carburrated Self-start-only bike on an uphill incline without over-working your right hand. How do you stop it from rolling backwards.

Anyways, I felt like my right hand was being over worked while riding through Bajirao Road today so I know that I need the rear brakes and so will get them rectified today itself. The rear brake has been non functional since yesterday after the service. The b@$+@rD$ did not have a spare 'something' so gave me back a potentially dangerous bike.

                              The answer is simple-
                              1. scratch whatever you wish to scratch with your left hand,
                              2. get your left hand to do all involuntary work and I believe that you can pull left without using your left hand,
                              3. don't use hand signals. Why are indicators fitted on your bike? for show?
                              4. just turn around so that you will have a downhill slope, much easier for jump starting.

Always have your right hand on the handlebar to modulate accelerator and brake.
