As per articles on forums and blogs, the CBR 150R might look like its elder sibling but it is not based on the same chassis. It has a different chassis and suspension and is a track tool rather than a sports tourer like the 250R.
That is tomorrow.. 7th was the date.

For this ride iam not in as i have office tomorrow.

EDIT- if the date decided is 8th then i dont mind joining lavasa ride...Since that was planned well before.

And with a peak torque of 12.56 Nm @8500 RPM, it will be a chore to ride in stop-go city traffic. For some perspective, the CB Unicorn has identical torque output (actually slightly more) but @ 5500RPM.

Also, the peak power is just 17.8 Ps@10500 RPM. This is not significantly more than the R15 V1 OR V2(17 Ps@8500 RPM) which makes peak power at significantly (2k) lower RPMs and 20% more peak torque at 1k lower RPM. (15Nm @7500 RPM).

I wonder who would buy one of these over the tried, tested, better and probably cheaper R15 v2.0 . Honda needs to come down to earth while pricing this or its no.s will be nowhere close to those of the R15.

Edit: All CBR150R specs are here:

        • Would that analysis change if I say that the CBR has a very flat torque band?

(It doesnt, but just saying) As far as who would buy is concerned, I would love to know who would buy the ZMR... :P

That is highly unlikely unless the bike sports a Turbocharged petrol engine.

And as for ZMR (minus the electrical insulation tape mod) it at least has a big cee cee advantage over the CBR150R which means that engine is far more relaxed than anything else reliable enough(you know what I mean ) to be considered for touring. And if Sachin Niar's statements have to be believed, it is supremely fuel efficient on the highways.

P.S.: I am not comparing their track usability here.

Most track bikes are peaky na? So why complain! Its not meant to be tugged in the traffic... Why complain about a feature which isnt its forte. Thats like saying Splendour doesnt handle well on corners :P

May be saying whats good about the bike would let Honda see more value in getting more "worldclass" products in India, rather thank shaking thier heads in disbelief saying that "Indians" just don't/wont get it!"

THink about it, its very much like the "Mileage kitna deti hain" type question :P

Guys .. I am unable to find the post for the 7th Jan lavasa cornering session now. I wanted to do it this time around as I missed the induction ride ... If anyone could post the extracts of it with some details that would be really helpful.
