So has this ride been cancelled?
There is no update on cornering thread as well.

Also I would like to know the answer of following question which i posted some pages back

I have all the safety gears but I have a question about bike papers; Is it ok if I carry license and RC card of bike or do I have to always carry bike insurance xerox as well?

        • Confused?

Confused! The first Sunday of the year:

          1) Lavasa: Would like to visit again n again n again to practice the next step in cornering... in love with those curves (learning curves )...but Sunday would be a wrong day, too much of traffic up hill, concentration ki batti bujh jati hai.

          2) Mum'bikers' coming down ( or up) to Rajmachi on Sunday.. Chalo Rajmachi ride (check out the mumbai thread). Offroading...not a bad idea. I wish I had my RX100 up to date.

          3) Shrinath's favorite breakast destination RK in Lonavala... no twisties.

          4) Lastly Amby Valley after breakfast.. never been there..would like to go there and did someone say it is a good place for cornering too?!!

How about if you could tuck in your Insurance copy beneath the pilion riders seat, if you have that provision. I have it tucked in all the time. Moreover, most of the times, TC, License and at the max PUC cd be asked. I havent faced any instance when sme cop asked me to show insurance. but others are must.

            have a safe riding.

Few curves on the way, but not as lavasa...infact nothing as lavasa corners closeby...

                • @Antz... Duh!
The simple point I was making is this
Its NOT a bike for traffic cutting. It is a track tool which has been around in the same form for a while, and now has newer clothes. To compare its traffic cutting prowess is as unfair to it, as asking for a superbike owner the bikes mileage! It is not what he had bought it for.
Also, secondly the peak torque level being high implying that it will have inadequate torque in lower rpms is also an assumption. From what I have read about the bike when they were launched was that the first gear is very short. This IMO should address your concerns on its traffic abilities right?
So the comment was to reflect, Why make an assumption on something that isnt really even the forte of the bike... We do not know how much torque it makes in the initial RPM (How much do we need btw)

As far as mass market is concerned, the dynamics of it are very different. Just to give you a tangent to think about. What Hero Moto did recently was touted to be a mega monster of a rebranding which can adversely impact thier business. Heck despite that, they had the HIGHEST december growth ever!

Thats when we realize handling, road grip, cross-wind stability, flickability and torque curves are also important for bike selection.

Back in the day till 2008, there were zero full faired bikes available for sale in the country south of 10 lac. If you wanted a full fairing, If you wanted to look unique, what would you do?? (of course Custom fabricate!! )

Assume a hypothetical market where all bikes sold are fully faired. Wouldn't *some* people, for want of looking unique, just buy the bike and remove the fairing on day 1? (like we remove saree guards ) Thats what I meant by change of trends. If only Faired bikes would sell in India, why would the manufacturers bother about introducing the Fz1s, the MT01s, the Harleys, the Bandits and the Streetfighters in this country? The fact that Pulsars do so very well in India made the manufacturers rethink their strategies. They could have very easily just kept selling the Race replicas and sports tourers if nobody wanted a naked.

Just imagine, what a sensation a product like the Duke 200 would cause in the aforementioned *hypothetical* market even if it was priced 30% more than its nearest competition in terms of horsepower. But once the initial euphoria dies down, the only products that will keep selling are those which truly deserve to, regardless of whether it has a fairing or not.
I do agree with you, to some extent.
P.S. I do know few R15 owners (not on xbhp) who tell me "I should have bought ZMR instead of R15, it has 75cc more than the R15".

@RedFlash Hey .. many thanks for the details.. guess, since I was going through 3, 4 different threads at the same time, I lost this info.
Yup, it is different category of bikes :P

                        • just to create some more confusion regarding the rides happening this weekend....

Mumbai PPL have organised a ride to rajmachi... details as below..

currently, I and biru are the ones going there...
rajmachi is basically for people who hate roads and love craters....

                          Chalo Rajmachi!
                          Sunday 8th January, 2012

Yes yes, we know the "right" season to do Rajmachi is the rainy season. However, if you are willing to do breakfast rides to Lonavala every 2 weeks, Rajmachi is a good-better option too.

                          So stop whining,
                          the sun is shining,
                          Come one, come all,
Everyone will get a chance to fall,
                          Don't push, don't fight
Everyone will get a bamboo up his bike.

Tentative list: (updated list is on bacefook...Log In | Facebook)
