    • [QUOTE=satyenpoojary;751I guess you are 'cruising' in a gear taller in that case. I always needed that on an R15 going uphill.

Had a good re brush of the cornering principles.

Lets put this up on a dedicated thread, I am sure many will benefit.

I have doubt on engine braking,
For me, if i don't downshift before a turn, I feel under powered at the Apex.
Is it normal or I am missing some basic.
        +1

          • Hi All,

Many of the points mentioned above have been described neatly & beautifully in the Twist of The Wrist video. Not sure if everybody has seen it. How about screening it in this G2G, may be we can shift it to Motocafe, we can run it on LCD screen if possible. Members who have attended CSS can share their experience.
And followed by a Lavasa ride on 14/15th Jan?

Also anybody interested for Pune-Panipat motorcycle ride? It is scheduled for 3rd to 14th January 2012 on the occasion of completing 250 years to The Battle of Panipat.
For more information check here. I'll not be participating in this ride.
            Regards,
            Abhijit

Are sir, It came in my mind due to the sticky tyres of R15, as i had done mid corner corrections many times in mid corner at prasarni and khambakti ghats.

What do you really mean by mid corner corrections? can you elaborate for the benefit of the battalion at war?

Like i am midway of an corner and suddenly i realise i am fast and i will leave my lane and go on other lane so i apply a bit of rear brakes and if required downshift and maintain my lane though i loose my lean angle, which i can do on R15 easily, tried with cbz and pulsar 150 but it was not giving that much confidence or positive feedback as the R15 did.

This is even important to attend, as you can't learn it in CSS. As in India, while at CSS you can learn the theory, to see it in action we don't have any downhill hairpin bend on the race track.

                      What we will learn?
                      - How to slow down using brake and/or engine braking before entering the turn. While the bike is still upright.
                      - How not to touch the brake once in the turn.
                      - How to keep on accelerating on the throttle, through the turn.
All this, at left as well as right downhill hairpin bends. Without crossing over into the opposite lane.

Sport riders or commuters or tourers, this is one session that will benefit everyone.

When: 7th Jan 2012 (Sat) or 8th Jan 2012 (Sun).
The date can be confirmed when the riders who will share the technique with us are available. Let's wait to get a confirmation on the availability of TenHut and atleast one of Ritwik/Roger/Sagar/Gamer (as suggested by TenHut).

Who All coming: (add the name to the following list)
                      From Pune
                      Nav75
                      Niks
                      Rony
                      Alok Das - Inflammable
                      ROCKRZ
                      Shrinath rao
PS: This is my first such post(initiating a meet). Hence, don't know how its done but if someone can invite riders from Mumbai also to join.
I am the one whose simple query bought this discussion out, and obviously i am the one who wants to learn and try doing it, so i am in. as rockrz suggested, i feel sunday is perfect.

Good to see you Oldfox sir after long time.
