Is it Bpcl rto pumpOriginally posted by shrinathrao View PostCame across a observation, Please dont fill fuel from RTO petrol pump, had a incidence today morning As i hitted reserve near Central@yerwada, i went for a tank full at the pump, i told the guy 10 litres before he started filling which he heard and nodded his head and the guy suddenly stopped after filling 100rs fuel/- And i again reminded him to fill 10 litres which he started without resetting the meter and later charged me for 10 litres + rs 100 where by he should have charged me only for 10 litres. I tried to argue with him but it was waste.
So be careful.

I've had the same experiences as Srinath , but at the BT Kawade Petrol pump .
It's a simple scam really . Example - You tell them to put 500 rs worth of fuel . The attendant will pretend he didn't hear you and then just fill only 100 rs worth . You will remind them again that it was for 500 bucks . At this point they will distract you with conversation and instead of resetting the meter they will continue filling till rs 400 shows on the meter . They will then ask you for 500 rs , saying that they filled 100 first and then 400 .
It's happened at least 7-8 times last year and has become blatant in-your-face kindof a scam now .Last edited by nitin-600; 01-04-2012, 03:29 PM.

As you said he didnt reset it before refeuling it to 10liters u had to stick to that point and not give 100 bucks at all. Most of the petrol pumps do that all the time, so whenever this happens with me while he is refueling i stick to the point saying that he didnt reset it.Life is full of twists, if you want them to be smooth learn to corner hard... \m/

Where does this come from? Adulteration and miscalculation are two different things. I always thought the COCO pump near RTO, the HP pump next to Nehru memorial and the Golden Jubilee one next to the Mahindra showroom were the best in Pune. People swear by them.Originally posted by utsavchs View PostAgreed with Siddharth!

Happened to me many times (but never at this pump), however in all the cases when I argued the attendant gave up. Never had to pay a rupee extra.Did you ask to talk to the person in charge? This scares them off.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostYa dk its the BPCL RTO PUMP next to Air india office
@ siddharth 10 liters = 700 right but i paid 800 as he told 10 liters for 700 + 100 rs.

I asked man, and 3 guys from pump staff came and start arguing saying there is no manager and all. This has happened with me too. Same pump. The day I was leaving for South India ride, so it was like 3.15 AM. I said tank full, he filled 100 bucks. Then without resetting he continued filling till tank full. Later he wanted to charge me 100 rs. + total bill. I have him an earful in the middle of the nightOriginally posted by darkknight View PostIs it Bpcl rto pump

. Didn't lose anything. But since then, have been careful and the ONLY place where I look when getting fuel filled is the meter. No matter what the attendant does to distract.
In my case, I could have proved that it was physically impossible to fill in that much petrol in the tank (had it come to that) since there was very less fuel remaining when I went there to fill-up.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

In such scenarios..tank full karneka aur bolneka...Itna fuel is mein bet hi nahi sakta hai...tumne zero nahi kiya...I had fuel before only, half tank...Obvious the cost would be more than 100 as said but then the chances of you getting more fuel for less money is conformed..Double cheat karneka
Full tank would be 12 liters for the R15 but since that loser dint do zero the meter would show around 13 liters...usko RCTC dikhaneka, usme hai tank capacity..Kaam khatam.
EDIT - just an eg guys!!!dont take it seriously. Please be attentive next time!!! hate such things happen over fuel pumps..
Also they divert your mind by asking card or cash, done by the attendant opposite the fuel meter....and that guy starts filling..Last edited by Eshan-P180; 01-04-2012, 04:44 PM.sigpic

I know and thats why i normally fuel up at RTO pump or shell hinjewadi or highway as they are costly by a rupee but not have this thingy. In fact when i asked for electronic receipt he told the machine does not print receipt and i was like what the heck.Originally posted by inder.cool View Post@Shrinath: This happens at most of the pumps in pune...one just have to be extra careful, and be attentive while filling fuel.

No pump can be trusted these days, its just that don't get distracted by their tricks n all. Or the best thing is remove helmet and say to him clearly...Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostI know and thats why i normally fuel up at RTO pump or shell hinjewadi or highway as they are costly by a rupee but not have this thingy. in this way u can observe the fuel meter and he won't say anything as to he didn't hear properly or anything of their crap.

Tell him that you are not going to pay a single dime!! Nil Nada!! Highway petrol pumps are much better!! Do agree on that.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostI know and thats why i normally fuel up at RTO pump or shell hinjewadi or highway as they are costly by a rupee but not have this thingy. Now here is the deal on how to rip the petrol pump guys. When you enter the petrol pump, take a quick glance at the meter and sit on the bike non-chalantly (even look in the opposite direction for an effect
). Lets say the meter reading is around 200 before you came in, and the guy started filling up from 200 (it should be fairly high number like 200 or more) instead of zero. Once he starts to fill in (you need to get the timing right, around 5 seconds), just glance back on the meter and shout at the top of your lungs
"Yeh itna jaldi 250 kaise pahuncha" and tumhne zero kyun nahin dikhaya". Ruk Jha, petrol mat bhar"!!
They will reset back to zero and fill petrol again. You need to pay only for the second filling!
