Wow!!! Satyen, can you extend that to places like Udaipur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Delhi, Nagpur, Jhansi etc ? I'm not looking for free, but, some good pricing from regular discounts

Dunno about the others, but you can definitely find good examples in Jhansi (in the main market about 8 km from the highway) with secure + safe + locked parking. Rooms go as cheap as 600-700 for an AC room. But don't forget to bargain HARD!

Anyways.. What kind of tank range do you get on the baby CBR?

Hinjewadi is a IT hub, these places are typically swamped by the IT folks wanting for a no nonsense secure stay access.
The CBR would harldy get any second looks in pune :P dont worry on that!

I second Praful there and infact I had such a discussion with a few folks from pune about it :P doing a GQ run is like doing Bangalore to Pune 4 times :P BORING (in capitals :P)

+1 Actually you do get SOME ghats in the Bangalore - Pune stretch... Once you reach the plains.. its basically arrow straight for kilometers. I got a neck ache with too much crouching in this stretch as I could easily maintain 140ish on the speedo on the Jhansi-Kanpur and beyond route(I took a different route from what is mentioned in your itinerary).

Friendly Advice.. Carry a knife(6 incher to remain in the legal limit) And a stick a 1000 rupee note somewhere below the belt (If you know what I mean ). The people living in the eastern plains may not always be friendly in nature.

Well...last time, when I did Chennai-Trichy-Chennai (653 Kms) in 9 hours (exclude 2 hours to darshan time at Temple) I got about 25 Kmpl!!! But that's not the speed I'm looking forward to ride for sure!!! Atleast after Bangalore.

Do remember to carry a spare set of gloves . They are very helpful if you pullup a brawl

On a serious note, on such trips especially alone, its better to ride through such places during day, but still, if you still fancy night riding through these places at night, you can carry a long tipu sultan sword or an kalashnikov with you...

till north atleast no issues but passing through east, yeah do be careful to wind up before dark

for speeds you talking about expect between 30-35 kmpl easily

30-35??? I don't even expect 30!!! Somehow I think I lost mileage after my first service or may be I'm enjoying the high speeds & torqy acceleration!!!

I guess that route has no/very little problem... just beware till nagpur... after that it won't be as dangerous..

@argee - on serious note carry a 6 inch dagger/knife on ur side pocket of tank bag as anant and rockrz told, as you never know what you may encounter.

I would also suggest the swiss knife victorinox and a emergency led torch.

You never know when you need it.

Brother.. I didn't mean to scare you at all . I was only telling you to carry a knife because actually I always do, just in case. I may have gone a bit overboard on my 'below the belt' advice. But still, it doesn't hurt to be prepared. And anyways, you could always use the knife for other purposes too eg. for cutting an apple, cutting short a rope, etc. etc . Also, If you dont feel safe carrying around a knife, another, even better option is to carry pepper spray instead

The alternate route though is actually pretty clean apart from the fact that you have to run for dear life whenever you are on 2-lane highways inside MP. MG, DK and I all have experienced this 1st hand .

Satyen - I'll be Pune by evening or night this Saturday, 27th. Vishwas ji had told me that, but the point is, I don't want to be of trouble to anyone. That's why, I thought to stay in Pune for Saturday + Sunday & then keep moving towards next location per itinerary. By then hopefully, I can schedule my work too.

I'm really embarassed, sorry & disappointed to state this here that, I've to keep up to work next week. The dates of the trip has been postponed, but not the trip as such. So, the plan remains the same, but I'll be in Pune by 3rd Sep instead of 27-Aug.

Plan can be as follows :

Meeting point : Chandni chowk (Near CCD/Viva Inn entrance)
Time : 8:45am (So everyone can join in without any hurry or delay)
Departure time : 9am (Sharp)
Plan : Have Lunch, visit Kas lake and return by 5pm.
