I'm really embarassed, sorry & disappointed to state this here that, I've to keep up to work next week. The dates of the trip has been postponed, but not the trip as such. So, the plan remains the same, but I'll be in Pune by 3rd Sep instead of 27-Aug.

I'm sorry if I'd caused any inconvenience to anyone. I'll confirm once again on 2nd Sep before I start the trip.

Hey Argee, welcome to Pune and hope you have a great ride, and regarding the stay, you can surely stay at my place and save the money, or I can arrange a small overnight G2G and you could join us over the weekend, but if Ginger's the place, then I'd recommend booking it online the same day, they usually have a lot of rooms available, and the last minute fares are just great. They're almost 50% less (personal experience)............... We'll meet for sure as Ginger's like 10 minutes away from my place............

I dont think you are new to xBHP. When I say "gay" I mean both..the non straight sexual kind of gay and I mean jokes which are old as dirt. But mind you I don't mean the idiotic/foolish/stupid jokes. What may be idiotic to me will be smart to someone else so who am I to decide on that ? Your is a serious question indeed and I am glad to have made myself available to you to answer it. My beef was more with newbies feeling left out because ppl single them out..whether the newbie particularly deserves it or not is not of any concern to me. Maybe he does and maybe he doesn't. The problem is if I ridicule you and although you might deserve it..the other newbie who doesn't deserve it and has nothing to do with you and I, will watch our conversation and think the whole bag is a bunch of loosers. Get my point now ? Newbies like Sirhud thought this and left. Oldies like Tourojith saw this and left.

Many thanks for your reply; sorry for the late response, I was enroute to Pune on leave.

I guessed as much but refrained from coming to a conclusion about the gay jokes issue. You are so very right about newbies getting singled out for some tongue-lashing; I faced some of that stuff in other fora of xbhp but let it go, putting the behaviour down to young age and the oft associated arrogance that goes with it.

May I add one small observation here? This is an enthusiast forum for greenhorns and veterans alike therefore, adequate patience for the former and due regard for the latter should be the norm. At the same time, I do come across new members asking questions which make me scratch my head and ponder over the the mental faculties of the said new member. I do think that while senior members, the veterans should have the patience and forbearance so necessary with new members, the new members also have a duty to acquaint themselves with fora rules and do some basic homework about their doubts. This being fair to both sides. This is also the principle I follow while teaching MY officers, men and even my children at home.

In aid of senior members, I have seen some of them behave most gently with the most atrociously basic questions from newbies.

I suppose in the end, seniors should dish it out gently and newbies should take it fairly...
