guys,be alert while filling fuel at the fuel station near karishma society (kothrud).the machines are rigged i guess.i had this bad experience several weeks back.

i went to fill petrol in my cbr,which already had few litres in it.the amount when the fuel was stopped was 496 and when he put the nozzel back it showed 750!! when i paid him 500,he asked me to pay 750.i thought i misread the amount at first but later after some thought i went back and told him that the amount he took was impossible as my cbr tank wouldnt fit in that much fuel,as it already had few litres.

he didnt even try to question or argue and calmly checked the previous amount which cleared showed 496!he returned my 250bucks.it was as if he knew about it all the time and had done it on purpose.when i questioned for such a mistake he said that the amount charged to the customer parallel to me filling fuel from the same Fuel dispenser was added into my amount! WTF!!! bloody !#^$%&*
thank God i have the habit of monitoring the amount being charged continuously.most people just check the amount at the end.especially people in cars.

It might also be a machine problem for which the attendants are not able to do anything.... remember he calmly returned your money back.. if he wanted to cheated you he would have said nothing is wrong and then the long battle of wits would have started.... m i justifying the petrol pump... nope..... surely avoid it... but spare the attendant...

i did that.didnt complain to the manager.as it is,its just a waste of time.but his intention was to cheat for sure.i was damn sure that my tank capacity couldnt take in so much fuel.i was also sure that i saw 496 total.he knew that if he argued,i would definitely win.so he didnt question and gave up immediately.

Yes, I have a bad experience at that pump too. These fuel station attendants always use old tricks. I dont fill there anymore.

which fuel station you guys use in kothrud?

i have had a bad experience on that pump too. I prefer the petrol pump near Chaturshrungi Temple now.

That station is more worse than karishma one.They use impure fuel.heard from several people that the petrol over there is 'mixed'.i had problems with the scooters in our house everytime i filled fuel from that station.The new station, ahead of krishna hospital, is also unreliable.
So i have been using karishma station since several years.never had any problem except the recent incident.

There are a many ways to rig such setups man! Heck! If a ATM machine can be rigged with both hardware and software controls what is a petrol pump machine :P

Aare, our dark lord has first hand experience so you should believe when he says that you can't easily catch him.

as far as rigging goes it is not so simple & is done with master engineering precision which you cannot easily know or catch

Very correctly said. I have had one similar experience but it was I who told the attendant that he should be charging me Rs 1000 instead of Rs 240 - he had read the meter feeding fuel to a scooter rather than the one feeding fuel to my car!!! The poor chap was almost in tears. Such things happen... It is up to us to, in the immortal words of the late Ronald Reagan - "trust but verify"...

@ everyone - Whats your say on petrol pump opposite YFS Wakdewadi, Both shell pumpsin hinjewadi and the HP pump between Fc Road and Esquare?

Are this pumps good or decent enough as I feel the baner petrol pump is hell bent on looting customers.

The Pump opposite YFS is a COCO.. i.e. almost as good as the RTO BPCL.

Shell is the best one you can get. The one opposite Rakshas's place is the best bunk I could find. (Cheap fuel, good fuel, no lines, no waiting). The other Shell one on NH4 has more expensive fuel. Shell @ Kasarwadi is cheaper than the one on NH4

IOCL opposite E-Square is useless.

HPCL opposite Agri College gate is a good reliable bunk.
