I am so confused ! What would u guys do if u were in my helmet ?

- Get a good condition (engine, chassis and suspension) 2nd hand 4st bike (for which parts won't be an issue).
- Replace tyres with offroading ones.
- Remove all unwanted stuff off the bike (fairing, fibre panels, etc).
You are good to go.

Hint: See what Hydro has done with his ZMA.

After the above if you think its the bike that is a bottleneck, look for out and out offroader.

I wud go with an rtr160/180 (2nd hand) and convert to off roader like Nav suggested.
Or even better , buy an fz6 , change to dirt tyres

The Dude in lost pages who wants a perf kit for ZMR... try finding parts for Honda CRF230.. a oversized piston kit would do good... AFAIK the FI on ZMR is connected to programmable ECU... so it could do better than the R15 in that context... I hope by reprogramming HH didnt mean different face plates of colour to house the ECU :P

Good on you Shrinath, my wingman ! So its a 2 stroke so its gonna be fuming gases all over the road ! Now thats a turn off ! Spare parts being an issue is also a big turn off. But the bike is modded well and i plan to import DT forks for it to be real offroader ! Thats a turn on !

Bhaskar Petrol Pump, Satara road, Opposite City Pride. He has lots of Yamaha RD350's and RX100's Good condition ! Modified RD350 is better than modified RX100, getting spare parts won't be a problem for a considerable amount of time as the bikes are in good condition !

Has anyone heard anything about dirt bikes being launched in India anytime soon ?
I am really wanting one now and need some pointers on this. If you know anyone whos got a dirt bike, on-off bike, or a dualsport bike pls lemme know.

Get a RTR and strip it... Thats what I am going to do as well...

can anyone throw some light on what a suzuki shogun 110cc engine was like. It was during the the times when I wasnt in India so i dont know shit about it.

110CC two strokes engine, a RX killer or so they say... Finding Yamaha Spares is easier than Suzuki ones, so avoid if you can find a RX (Get a 135, bore it like crazy till 160 and you should get enough kicks - Ping Atul Astro @ xBHP for that)

DT Forks on our sad chassis would be like Arnold Shivajinagars Arms on Surojits frame

No I dont... I have a Full system Even DK has a full system and not a Slip on...

@tenhut - to be frank if you want to go for a offroading bike why dont you buy a second hand zma and remove the front fibre and do the mods of tyre replacement as i have seen the zma being used as a dirt bike and offroading and does pretty well.

@ satyen - it seems you are again planning a big time upgrade for your RTR, correct me if i am wrong

I didnt suggest coz hes not a big fan of Bulls. Other wise a stock bull is good for anything. Then there are ppl who make excellent offroaders out of it. (Remember the 500 that came to Moto Cafe on 6th june?)
