But with four days to go, overhauling the plan is gonna be difficult. I hope we can pull this one off.

The credit for the plan is entirely John's. Once he comes online, discussions can begin to formulate a change/compromise.

And sir, your presence coupled with Sunil sir's, is paramount. And Im speaking for xBhp: Bangalore when i say that this is absolutely no nuisance at all !
Im sure we can draw up a plan that fits in with the tradition of the I-Day ride as well as makes an allowance for some decent mileage as well.
Like I said earlier, once John comes online, Im sure things will be fast-tracked and we'll see the plan shaping up

Sunil: Long time man. It would be nice if you came along, regardless of city or outstation ride. I'm sure we could do enough to protect our flags.

Things are looking amiable for the ride already, regardless of destination
@Sunil sir: With you aboard, im sure this ride is gonna be the most memorable I-Day ride yet !

And since John is already in the know, we can expect a confirmation of the destination, meeting time & spot by today evening.

          • Hey Called John & Spoke to him again,

Looks like many people want to ride out for a long ride.
so We will leave the current plan AS IS to
            Krishnagiri Dam.

I will join you guys at the starting point, but not sure If I can make it all the way.
(I am recovering form Viral )

More Info From Web: Yelagiri Getaways - Excursion - Krishnagiri - Krishnagiri Dam - Krishnagiri Fort - Distance from Yelagiri - Distance from Bangalore - Yelagiri - Tamil Nadu - India - IndiaHotelReview.com

            Distance from Bangalore: 97 Km

            Krishnagiri Dam
For reaching Krishnagiri Dam, you have to take the route towards Dharmapuri from Krishnagiri. After traveling for some 5 km you will find an arch on your right. Take right turn. Drive on this road, Krishnagiri Dam is situated about 2 km from this arch. Another landmark to remember is a lake before the right turn. The official name of the dam is Krishnagiri reservoir project that was built in the 60’s.
The water at Krishnagiri Dam comes from the ThenPonnaiyar (South Pennar in Tamil) river. The best part about the Krishnagiri dam is that you can actually drive on the dam. Driving on the single lane stretch you will witness some breathtaking scenes. On one side is the reservoir and on the other side is the sluice canal. There is a hillock beside the dam which can also be trekked. Other attractions here include a well maintained park and an enclosure for Deers.
After visiting the Krishnagiri Dam one gets the idea that the huge potential of the place is not fully exploited and the facilities in terms of drinking water, canteen or toilet leaves much to be desired.

            Cheers
            Sunil

              • @john: Riding with flags made of cloth might be an issue (in windy conditions, it might slow us down).. & I guess, mounting the wooden pole (or whatever its called ) on the bike might also be an issue for some bikes..
I suggest we lay our hands on those small plastic flags, & stick it on our rides' visors using scotch tape or something.. Neither riding, nor mounting issues then..
                What say?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                  • Where can i procure a flag from? i havent seen any shops around my place selling them...

                    Comment

                    • @Tibby: Mithun saar is right. There are absolutely no issues as such. Last year, two Comet's were riding around Bangalore as part of the I-Day ride with the very same wooden masted cloth flags.
And since group riding ethics dictate that we go as fast as the slowest bike in the lot, one can't expect to top 80 k's an hour. With those kinda speeds, im sure we can affix the flags firmly enough to avoid it taking off from the bike

However, if one is afraid of any aerodynamic ineffeciencies arising out of the flag fluttering, then sadly there is nothing that can be done

                      • @mithun & maverick: i have no issues in using a khadi flag, if everyone is fine with it, & so long as mounting it isn't a problem..
The thought of sticking the flag to the fairing occured to me, & it appeared hassle-free, so i suggested it..
Will definitely go by what the group decides as a unit..

Looking forward to meeting you all..

keep one spare flag for me ...am nt joking if am coming i will use the spare one. BTW i dont know how the 15 riders will clamp the flags...so the idea rolled out initially was keeping this issue (for 15 riders) in mind... anyways something can be done, we are expert in doing anything and everything
