even i might be a part of the Bajaj family, will book a P220, gift to my younger bro, i was planning to get tattooed and some good alpine gear but now my bro wants the bike ASAP. All my saving are gone and there goes my GOA trip for new year as well, but i love my bro too much for anything for him.

Its been long now...lets ride this weekend. Any suggestions guys? What about the dams?

What is WD40???

I bought a foot pump for 350/- in Ranigunj. It is neither small not big. It fits comfortably in the tank bag. I happened to a foot pump for sale in Metro for 250/-. But its quality is not as good as the one bought in Ranigunj. Another interesting thing I happen to see in Metro is double cylinder foot pump. It supposedly decreases the effort. I would have bought for our car, but again its quality is not that great. There are some more cool gadgets and tools, which may be of a tourer's interest.

If the bike rode at sane speeds(read 60's) it can last the trip. But I remember reading 80 to 100 kmph speeds in moeed's logs so I was skeptical more so because I felt bajaj bikes are a bit coarse to rough in terms of refinement.

I'll be maintaining an average speed of 80 km/h.

So Moeed can do it easily with his Platina.

can the Platina sustain the huge luggage that needs for the trip?

I will keep luggage to the barest minimum. I would be wearing the warm clothes, so the luggage would be less.

But Moeed, I don't think you should ride it as hard as you generally do on highways-you can't afford to stress the engine out.

I'll maintain a steady pace. Not too fast, not too slow.

Yeah now I do-the slopes will be an issue as the Platina is very light&most of the luggage will be loaded behind.

I'll get a tank full done and put some luggage on the tank, so that would balance the load equally.

Moeed can have a tank bag!
Tht will reduce some weight in the back.

well heres my doubt...if you are coming on the platina you cant keep up the speed of the 220s na....we will be doing 600kms a day minimum...

I'll start early and take lesser number of breaks to keep up with you guys. 600 km per day is not at all a problem for me.

We require munching of miles over long run.
I'm Sure U can do that on a platina much better than me on a 220.

Lets start planning it immediately.
We'll also try for some sponsors if possible.
The early we start the better the chance of sponsors.
Sponsors are very much a good add on when U do rides like these.
