Guys just because you have higher capacity bikes, doesnt mean the small ones cant do. Best example, Ashish (gasolinejunkie) rode all the way from hyd for the hx onhis ybx. beat that.

there you go...i was wondering how come no one posted the above sentence...dude i was just curious whether the smaller one if stressed to its limits for a longer period of time...will it go kaput or not...it was a honest curious knowledgeable question ...its for my own knowing...

^^^ For the matter, you can do longer distances on any bike. What matters is, how comfortable the bike is and how comfortable you are to ride. The chances of breakdown for a smaller bike for extended periods of high speed riding is high compared to larger bikes.

Karizma-R - 85000

Prices could be less a couple of hundreds, but not more than these.

Nowadays less than 500 km a day is not a ride for me. Bored of the baby rides(100-500 km ones).

Yup, I am ready to ride all the way till leh. ....

can any one point me to the thread where the discussion of this particular getting Leh'ed is being discussed.

Also I request others to discuss in that thread.

Me too!!! If the bike rode at sane speeds(read 60's) it can last the trip. But I remember reading 80 to 100 kmph speeds in moeed's logs so I was skeptical more so because I felt bajaj bikes are a bit coarse to rough in terms of refinement.

BTW, I did hear from a gentleman(read 50+ years) that he did the himalayan trip on his 12 year old CD100 in late 90's. The bike is still his work horse even after his retirement from his job.
