I didn't realise I put my post here!Originally posted by rkakkar View PostFirst go there and ask them to show it. Have a look for yourself to see if the pads are really gone or if its just a setting misaligned. Experience has taught me not to consider SVC word as gospel truth.
I thought mods deleted it from the CBR thread
Anyways, so I collected my bike and also checked out the break pads. Got it replaced as the older ones wouldn't have lasted another 1,000 kms and I will be out touring so might as well replace it now
. But yes, sucks the break pads were worn out completely in just 6k kms
Lets see how long these last now
@nastrofaction: Would you be stopping over at Ahmedabad or can you continue on till Udaipur? if yes for the latter, you can take the SH87 and SH5 to bypass Ahmedabad and reach Udaipur quickly

You would be better to go via Nashik if Delhi is your destinationSuper CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

To bypass Mumbai, you have 2 options.Originally posted by nastrofaction View PostHey Guys,

#1 (which i took) Start from Pune and head towards Ahmednagar - Shirdi - Manmad - Dhulia (NH3). Follow NH3(Mumbai Agra Highway) till Agra.
#2 Start from Pune, head to Nasik - Vapi(NH8). Follow NH8 till Delhi.
The NH3 route is more... for lack of a better word... exciting
.
Alternately, you could join NH3 from Nasik itself. But since Pune-Nasik takes a LOTT of time, #1 is a better option if you intend to go via NH3. The traffic on NH3 is much much less than NH8. But NH3 will mostly be 2 lane from Dewas onwards till Gwalior. Best of luck for your ride
Advice is a form of nostalgia.

Hey guys, quite
about the response.
Here is the full map link for interested fellows.
@antz.bin
We would have loved to take the NH3, but as we are leaving on Friday morning and with route almost done, may be we would use this one during return.
@Satyen
Was waiting for your response
, Nitin is riding with us again to Delhi.
Just went to Malshej few days back and found the road in not so good shape compared to Pune - Mumbai Stretch.
We plan to leave Pune close to 4 in morning so we can rush from Mumbai before 7.
We have your previous comments to guide
<
Proceed to Vashi > Take a right to Eastern Express higway at Mankhurd > At the end of the road you will have to take a right to be on Eastern Express road... Stick to it.
After crossing a toll gate you will encounter a few flyovers (If my memory serves me right, they are 3) the second last flyover would be Cadburys flyover. After which you have to take a left to Ghodbunder Road.
Keep going straight, (Traffic prone road - so try and time your journey appropriately) you will reach Ghodbunder Ghats... a few bad corners later you will be on NH8 (Fountain Hotel on right) proceed left wards and thats the route for you to take. A bit of bad patches uptill Manor. Goes better till surat
>
Am trying to get this more detailed as now also we have zero knowledge about how to handle Mumbai.
@ChickMagnet
Our plan is to leave Pune at 4 a.m, drive till 6 p.m. Stop.
Ahmedabad is least and yes we are targeting Udaipur.
We have already taken into considerations the state highways. Thanks.
@Maestro
Thanks for the link, a fellow guy from Mumbai has suggested to take the Vashi Bridge -> Thane -> Ghodbunder instead.
Not too sure which one is better with respect to traffic conditions and less corners.
Rest, it would be great if someone could join us for this part of the trip.
