hehehe i know how irritated you were to ride to NH8, all the way from Panvel, when we went to Pelhar and it was raining too and we had to ride through, well anything else than normal road and you had your brand new CeeBeeArr and we had lot of traffic while coming back

On the long dhaba runs we do not approve of any kind of alcohol or intoxicating stuff. Sadly that in your case could range from Pinacolada to tomato sauce\ketchup. So not sure. Will jointly decide. (Will do a good research on the Virgin - Pinacolada jokes though!)

PS: There's also the "NH-8" dhaba on NH-8 which is diagonally opposite to Kinara. They have khatias and the food is pretty awesome too. Sampled it recently. Quite loved it. And yeah they have none of the live ghazal nonsense from Kinara. I can't STAND IT! Cheers!

A doubt

IMPORTANT UPDATE: AS HARYANA TRAFFIC POLICE, HIGH COURT HAS IMPLEMENT A CHALAN OF RS. 100/- FOR RIDING ANY VEHICLE WITH LIGHTS TURNED ON & ONE OF OUR XBHPIAN WAS FINED FOR THAT WHILE CROSSING PANIPAT TOLL. SO LETS MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT GET HAPPEN AGAIN

A similar incident took place with us while coming back from slope of hell, kamshet on sunday morning. I was leading the pack with hormuz following me closely and his friend binoy was at the tail end. A team of traffic cops were standing just ahead of sector 46 (couple of meters from belapur-uran phata) signal on palm beach road. We stopped just before the red light but they waived us from the opposite side and asked us to come ahead. After that they asked for license and other bike papers which we showed them. Then the senior cop told us not keep headlights ON and not to ride in formation. He told they have fined a couple of super bikers just few minutes back. I asked him to show if such rule exists in the book. He took out some book from his bike's side box while examining my license and RC card. On finding the documents valid he just said not to ride in formation and keep the lights OFF as further ahead there is naka bandi and cops can catch us again. With this warning he left us and did not open the book.

I want to know whether such a rule exist. I didnt find any such thing on mumbai traffic police website.

Pragmatic suggestion - if he says switch it off, say yes sir and switch it off. Ride out of sight, switch it back on. No harm done. When you reach a naka bandi, switch it off again - with naka bandi the headlights are a problem cause they can't see your face due to the headlight glare - hence the unofficial rule - of course if its night you can't help it but then you should switch to low beam. Don't argue with cops unless they are forcing you to shell out money or forcing you to get a rectal exam. If you deal with them with a calm head, they will usually let you off and it will take less time and everybody's happy.

Edit: It would be interesting to know what the Ninja owners propose to do in this regard? ISI helmets on the head and an ISI cap on the headlight to hide the always-on headlight j/k. I seriously doubt this is an issue.

At first I did ask that rebellious question out of anxiety but soon I nodded my head in agreement and asked hormuz & binoy to switch off the headlight and keep sufficient distance amongst to avoid being viewed as formation. We did come across naka bandi at vashi signal and the cops did not stop any one of us. But I am still anxious to know if such a rule really exist !

@ Rony :- He said he fined some superbikers too. Did he fine them for headlights ON or for riding in formation. Next time he says no riding in formation say OK, we will ride in zig zag manner like some local rossis.
Saala riding in a sane manner is also a crime now . Wasnt Sunil with you all.
