HELMET GOES HI-TECH Helmets fitted with a Bluetooth device began being imported in 2010 and soon had two-wheeler riders using it Traffic cops say they will take action against bikers wearing these helmets as talking on a mobile while driving or riding is illegal. These helmets are not certified by the Indian Standards Institute; they have the certification mark from the country they are produced in, which is not acceptable here
The Bluetooth device allows the user to navigate GPS systems and, when attached to a music player, to listen to songs If a traffic policeman catches a rider wearing a Bluetooth-attached helmet, he can impose a fine of Rs 100
The Bluetooth of one rider, if paired with that of another, can also act as a wireless; instead of using earphones, the bikers can talk to each other via Bluetooth, but they have to be within a distance of 2 km

^^ personally I am not in favour of the bluetooth helmets. Rather stop and talk or not take a call at all - prefer the later. Though, each one to his own.

Alankar! Set up the Camera with the phone man! I think it needs a BT Address in the config file. You can generate one in story teller, or you could email contour about it!

@chickmagnet but the key rockstar feature of that thing is that two (or more?) can be paired and used as walkie talkies. I guess that is the only non-disruptive usage of the Bluetooth Helmets. In fact, I really do not mind trying out a bluetooth helmet (or stick a bluetooth device in my existing helmet) and trial this feature.Originally posted by Saerius View PostComment
