Which of these have better overnight stay options - Bordi or Umbergaon ?? Can some one recommend a good beach side resort/guesthouse/homestay in this area ??

You can speak to locals and there was some hotel/guesthouse thingy near Umbergaon afaik... else live near Bordi if you need resortsSuper CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Back from a ride to Malvan and Goa...

Pics:-
A journey that took us >1600kms through Malvan and Goa. Initially only Malvan was planned, we later decided to do Goa as well.
Trip Log (+update on road conditions):-
Day 1 (17th Dec): Ride from Mumbai to Tarkarli via NH17 which is in a fairly decent state as of now, just the occasional rough patches, no major offroading sections !! No matter how dangerous this highway, it surely is a treat to ride the scenic twisties, the only highway where you can go minutes without blinking your eyes
Day 2: Snorkelling and visit to Sindhudurg fort. Ride to Vijaydurg fort, Devgad, Kunkeshwar beach, Achara village(to visit a Rutu's friend's ancestral house) and back to Tarkarli.
Day 3: Lazing around Tarkarli beach, Devbaug beach and visit to cashewnut factory and local market.
Day 4: Ride to Goa from Tarkarli via MSH4. Have to take the ferry from the Terekhol river crossing(Aronda) to enter Goa. Accomodation near Calangute beach. Visit to Chapora fort, Anjuna beach and Calangute beach.
Day 5: Ride to Cabo-De-Rama fort and Agonda beach in Canacona district(South Goa). You have to take the Fatorpa exit from NH66 to reach the fort and then continue towards Agonda. This whole section is super smooth and twisty almost track-like with little to no traffic.
Day 6: Ride back to Mumbai via NH4 (took the Sawantwadi exit from NH17 to join NH4 at Tavandi near Nipani). Except Amboli ghat most part of this route is in a pathetic state, bad roads almost throughout. The section of road just before joining NH4 is technically in Karnataka. NH4 was a fullon ripping session. Reached pune by 3.30pm.
All-in-all was a great trip, enjoyed the local cuisine and the warm hospitality of the people in Malvan.
Special thanks to dk and ketan for their recommendations.
@rony, you will find better accommodation at dahanu and bordi (in that order)Last edited by crazySID; 12-25-2011, 02:01 AM."To accomplish much you must first loose everything" - Che Guevara
