Also in worst case we can always cut short the ride !
Regarding risk, its something which if not taken then we will never move forward but this 1 is not that big a risk !

I am in for friday/saturday/sunday evenings.
P.S. I just got a helmet for riding gear. Rest I will be wearing make-do stuff such as a normal jacket, gloves, sport shoes.

Should be fine as long as its a thick jacket... we arent venturing too far out.
You might want to buy a Elbow+Knee Guard set, which is priced at 950rs and is a better bet!
