Hey guys....

I had a small skid on the Eastern Express highway 2-3 weeks back. The sadest part is, i had NO gear on that time (FYI. Helmet is always mandatory, never have i ridden without helmet)

Ya so i was on the EE highway, riding at 40-50 on the left (slow) lane as i was without gear. There was an activa ahead of me, and while coming down from a fly over, that JackA$$ stops suddenly to attend a phone call on the flyover, i tried to move to the right and saw a speeding car coming in my rear view, i braked hard to avoid the JackA$$ but my rear skid due to panic braking.

Scratched my palm, Knee and ankle. The MoFo on the activa ran away after i skid. Whole of the right side of my bike got scratched, fairing and other plastic broken. Total cost Rs. 10,200

Have to go collect my bike from service center tomorrow. Will get my insurance claim, but dont know how much exactly.

Can anyone give me an info about how many days will it take for insurance money to come?

ICICI Lombard. I guess i will have to pay the money 1st and i'll get it back later. Is that correct?

you will have to make the payment by yourself to the SC and get the stamped bill original and a copy of your license sent to the insurance agent who attended to your bikes inspection. this was in my case with NEW INDIA ASSURANCE policy. sometimes the agent does this part himself.
but you have to make payment initially and they will send you the % claimable under the insurance by cheque.
p.s: doesnt feel good to know so much about insurance suddenly.:s

Thanks for the input dude...but my bike is already fixed, the agent SVC, everyone did their work. I just have to pay the money and get my bike, only thing, when will i get the money by check?

p.s. I know it feels horrible to see you bike in a broken state

exactly what retweak said....if its a fresh one...it may take about a month's time...but if its a renewed one,it takes less than a week...but that was the maruti's new india insurance...dont know about ICICI...
