ok guys now i seriously need to buy riding gears for regular uses. met another accident today. Injuries are as follows:
rider(me) quite severely on my right knee only.
ride: back panel on the right side, front fairing on the right side, possibly the fork is also bent a bit, right indicator scrapped out, none else. Probably a repairing cost of around 3-3.5k i assume. Will have to put forward a claim for insurance but i also don't wanna keep my bike at that silly probiking workshop for n number of days so quite confused.
area of accident: rashbehari crossing. Skidded on broken tram line.
1 success worth sharing, even after the accident all my diy leds were working perfectly.

ride safe bro. i know dat riding gears in city for regular rides draws a lot of unwanted attention but it is very imp. atleast invest in a good elbow and knee gaurd and stay away from tram tracks. they are the worst thngs for bikers apart from chasing dogs

first u have 2 take Bombay Road and go up to Kolaghat ... after that take Nandakumar Rd upto Chowalkhola ... then take left turn and u will be at Mandermoni.

The mentioned Route of BLACKPRINCE is correct but KOLAGHAT to NANDAKUMAR road condition is pathetic due to road widening.
Moreover need to negotiate with big trailers which is hazardous.

Since we both travelled around end May-2011 this is the latest update.

Try KOLGHAT-MECHEDA-TAMLUK-NANDAKUMAR route.

Came back through this stretch from the suggestion of a local Biker friend.
Would be 10 km additional but the stretch is definitely better.

Hey guys, sorry to interrupt the discussions going on.
I guess the Kolkata xBhpians have already done the Darjeeling Trip. I am thinking of doing the same from Shillong to Kokrajhar and then to Darjeeling and back this coming 2nd - 9th July with my lady.

I would be glad if anyone of the xBhpians could help me out with the updates on the current/likely weather condition, Road condition, about any bandhs and lastly if any permits required in Darjeeling?

People from West Bengal have not faced any problems in Darjeeling recently,the new resolutions by the new state government has allowed peace in Darjeeling for all, by now.

Most of us Kolkata Xbhpians stay in the same state where Darjeeling is, and we are free to move anywhere in our state without extra permits.But I have no knowledge if tourers from other states has free passage to the Hilly territories.Maybe someone else can enlighten about that.

But if we move to Sikkim we often need to have PUC and registration or tax token of the vehicle along with our Voter ID..........you may also need so.

Thanks Bro. Do let me know if any further information is available. Lets hope the weather and schedule is good for a 2 day's trip otherwise I will have to grab my fishing rod and relax under some shade by a river side.
