where to ride to???? we can do it comfortably in August. Bogging heat(summers not over till June in Northern Hemisphere) n slippery roads(early rains this year expected) wont be my type of ride

However let the first big trip be trying getting sumwhere close.............what say Darjeeling n Dooars: The hilly regions??? Lets try riding these places first.

Now it depends on how big u want it to be ?? (right now I assume u are empowering that R15 more ,in a big way)

@Soumen.Sam...........ride in cold evening winds yaar,it wud be good.Since u come from Barrackpore,Bappa may help u out on ur way to Rajarhat CC2.Bappa does Barrackpore on regular basis(as required) and is comfortable on the Barrackpore roads at night

Me too same.. I also prefer Dooars for a long trip. Hilly regions is perfect. However Darjeeling is at very higher mountain, and the road are very dangerous there, however I will love to ride there but I’ve doubt about our bikes, it can afford that stress or not. And I don’t think before September a long trip would be good. As we know it takes almost September to complete the rainy season. Even in September we face heavy rain.

And my office is just near Rajarhat, beside Bappa’s office and I too usually visit CC2. So that wouldn’t be a problem. But cold evening winds? say hot... Oh.. don’t know what will be the summer gifts.

Yes, you can. Very much possible. Roads are in very good shape.
But keep in mind the Gorkhaland issue, the reason for which I gave it a miss.

The roads are very upright. The most dangouris thing would be while going back down. As we have no idea about hilly road driving so I think that would be very risky. An expertise can define it better.

But there have many other spots at low hill area like Mirik, Kalimpong, and many more which can be achieve easily and more over these are hardly 50-60 km away from Shiliguri.

Wow man.. The snap just increase my blood pressure… you went there with bike? How was the experience? Would you like to share with us? It’s my dream to go over there with my bike. And yes the Gorkhaland issue is very tuff there, last Dec my few friends were trapped at road strike. I hope by dec,10 it would get lighter.

                            • @ Ani,

What is Gorkhaland issue ? Sorry i have no clue about this.

                              @ soumen.sam,

My last visit to Darjeeling was 4 years back. And road is absolutely fine. But I hardly had seen bikes there. Couple of pulsar i have seen tough at the main town in Darjeeling. Coming down is quite a bit tricky so far i feel. And also those sumo zeep drivers also crazy...

I really wanna hit darjeeling soon. All the way to shiliguri - Darjeeling from Bangalore on my 220

Some give me hope with better updates
