I've heard this; but haven't tried & hence didn't recommend.

            • @aargee: Regardless of intensity of rains, if you are on a tarmac highway that has other vehicles plying on it, there will be a spray of dirt which will form a nice muddy layer over the visor. Dunno if its still raining in Chennai, but just try riding from Perungudi to Sholingnalur in heavy rains, the spray from buses and trucks makes the visor almost opaque

Anyways, the other issue is washing of diesel takes loads of strong detergent. IMO, more trouble than help with Diesel on the Visor. I'd rather take a break, clean my visor and ride on.

Dude chill, riding in the rain is not all that bad. Anyways if it starts pouring elephants and tigers people would have to pull over for the rains to finish off and then resume riding.

The feeling of riding for miles on end with wet inners... *priceless*

If your vehicle is TN registered I don't think you need to carry originals.

Praful, I think people coming with bikes registered other that TN need to have their Original, all the Tn'ers can have the xerox copy. That should suffice.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Riding in rain is just too much fun, until the intensity of rain makes it too difficult to see the road/vehicle ahead of you.

OMG, I thought tobacco can be used for chewing and smoking.

Never heard of the above use.

Right, but...is the GQ/NH also so much crowded or polluted? Anyway if anyone is so particular on this, here're some recommendation
                          1. (should be available at Pennzoil dealer)

                          • C'mon guys, whats happening? First it was riding at night and now riding in rains. I do not know why its so much of a concern. We are not riding on slicks used by F1 guys, are we? Our tires have more than enough traction in wet. And we are not riding SBKs that break traction once they spot a greasy condition. With our puny lawn mower motors, u are very safe!!! As long as you can accelerate and brake smoothly, its nothing to worry about.

I myself have done umpteen rides in heavy rain on my R15/Pulsar. I understand that wet weather does not inspire as much confidence as a clear sunny dry day, but hey its not as bad as its made up-to be here!

If you guys are so worried of rain riding, then you should remember that fog with near-zero visibility is worse. Praful and I once did a ride in such foggy condition. Praful, do u remember that foggy ride to Bangalore?

                            • Yep I remember that absolutely weird out of no where fog post Sriperumbudur all the way till Ambur, that coupled with bugs spattering on the windshield. Those were the initial few days I'd started riding/touring.

Ah! The good days where such things felt so tough and challenging

Yeah, and not to forget my tinted visor and lorry headlamps! Man, one ride that was. I stepped at Bangalore with bloodshot eyes and wet/smelly dress and looked like a drunkard.

So guys be assured that as bikers we have much worse situations to encounter. Forget rains and start riding!
