    • Sorry for the posting late here....

530 AM Sunday : I thought was the only guy waiting outside the CTC, wondering if they were all waiting at other gate. While thought process working out, Karizma came slow downed as it approach where I was waiting, thought Ah!, it was Kiran.

I thank, Kiran, Deepak, Dinesh, Aargee, Ragav and Tarun for making it to G2G pre-ride !

It was nice to meet Makky ( thought I can identify him as the enthusiast from Pondy)

Yesterday was one of the best G2G rides had been so far.

      Reasons?

      1. It was educational
      2. Information
      3. Obedient followers behind lead (lol)
      4. Fruitful discussions regarding the trip
      5. Question hour session
      6. Expressing our thoughts

I dont have to mention about the group riding as many had already given comments. It really helped and practical experience worked better that watching over the videos.

Thanks to Kiran for guiding us on the group riding and signs to be used.

Next G2G guys where are we upto? I'm ready and hope we will have another wonderful day to ride.

Aargee - Times can be very challenging and it is all the battle goes till the finish. Flat tires? Still we have another Saturday to fix it up, so will see you on another G2G with all josh!

Ragav - After you complained of issue, it might have been a bad idea to continue, you should have taken shelter in your relative's house. at least for the rains.

I don't want to stop because I was already drenched and it did not make sense to stop over for the rains. I was able to manage riding in around 40-50kmph towards to the city.

Bikerfas: I'm going to search for any sale for the jacket (in US)

Mine is not OE; its twin springs (SNS) Endurance make & the settings are at point 1 - comfortable for solo ride.

        • Thanks Aargee for suggesting Vallakotai as the G2G destination, I can't resist writing about it.

We took a let from the Sriperumbadur outskirts to Vallakotai, I'm not sure if the spot we stopped was actually Vallakotai or on the way. Anyway, coming back to topic.

The place was completely cutoff from the bustling city noises, unwanted crowd/ encroachment and COPS to question.

The road seem to be pretty good after the initial stretch and tempted to take a some quick dash for the top speed drives. ( I was able to do 90+ on Aargee's RX...wow!), imagine it was so good.

We arrived early over there, and found few pepple taking walk through the inner farmlands and we could some what guess...

The breeze was excellent and thought what a lovely day for a peaceful discussion. Apart from few company buses, absolutely there was no traffic.

The climate breeze and chit chat went on and on. We never realized the time until suddenly sun popped out and said hi and disappeared.

Do we have similar place like vallakotai for next G2G dear friends?

Come up with suggestions, will make G2G even better for the coming weekend.

            Hopefully - Yes
When ever I was looking at the speedo, the needle was in the 80's.
On my last Chennai-Bangalore trip, I did 115kmph.
But said that, I don like to do fast driving. I want to make sure that I keep riding at a speed that I have control over the bike.
It was nice riding with you and I request you to make up to the Tri-state, even if not the next G2G

Trust me Sri, this place was far far far better when I did this in 2001/02. It was such a beautiful ride & sorry to say, I didn't expect it to be this way. Before the real estate boom, I could easily find birds & butterflies than human heads. The 2 laned country side road was good enough with trees on both the side. Yes, I mean it, there were trees on both the sides of the road. The farms were very green with palm trees in distance covering the rising Sun. Now its fully commercialized with good roads at the cost of birds & butterflies

I want to make sure that I keep riding at a speed that I have control over the bike
That is very true & it depends very much on how one is comfortable. About 10 years ago, I used to ride the same speed & many people mistake me that I'm racing & they also speed up for street racing. Now me being a moron used to challenge them on streets. One day, I almost missed an accident due to over speeding & found that I was challenging my own limit at wrong place. Since then I decided to stay at the top of my speed but never cross the comfort zone; I realized that the comfort zone is also dependant upon several things such as place, traffic, time, situation, road condition, temperature & even mood to an extend.

                  • ^ Sounds interesting, unless you had suggested Vallakotai would have never been there at all.... nice experience.

I would love going to similar places for G2G's and discussions etc. It really sets the atmosphere.

I don't like to miss the G2G, but I just started thinking, if I can ride somewhere very long this Sunday, say 100+ Kms one way to check how long can I keep riding at one stretch & it will also help me increase my confidence with riding long.

Other options, we can go to Vedanthangal as anant had suggested for the earlier g2g.

BUT, both these options are also short distance only..

Then, we can go to Gingee fort if the distance is suitable to everyone.
And last but not the least we can go to Pondy

@Sagar, it was great meeting u there. wish u had a good time at the airport Am really looking forward to see u win next month..
@Makky, your favourite driver Satish (69) was awarded 1st position and he came to the podium with a plastered arm. I hope he is fine..

Is it?? Surprising! What was the reason? the race was called off after the accident and the results were taken only till the time of fall? But that doesn't happen, right?
Well, I was amazed to see him dude! He was caressing every inch of the corners with his knees! Anyways, I am happy that he got away with a small injury.

PS: Did I read "Pondy" for the next G2G??

Well, you've given me a good idea as I was thinking to ride to Vellore (just for the sake of riding).

If Kiran doesn't mandates the next G2G, then, I'll skip the G2G, but ride to Vellore or Gingee.

                            • Yercaud Tri-state G2G - planning G2G

Mandatory for people who are participating in the Tri-state G2G. And especially for those who didn't turn up for the last G2G. However, this doesn't mean that people who came out for the last G2G can give a skip.

                              When: Sunday, June 13, 2010
                              Time: 05:00am
                              Meeting place: CTC, Nandambakkam
                              Destination: Vellore

NOTE: Although it is the middle of summer, the weather is becoming unpredictable. Kindly get your rain gears ready.

                              ATTENTION:
If you find your name/ID in the below list, you MUST attend this G2G. The main reason being you haven't been to any of the G2Gs until now. Directly jumping in to ride will be of some concern for us. This G2G will help us get to know you, and you will get to know the people you are going to ride with. More like ice-breaking or bonding. If you fail to make it, we may have you to put in tentative (and eventually strike you off the list). Not to offend you, but this is in everyone's interest.
