    • Basic vehicle requirements to be carried.

After our Amriti forest ride, we encountered situation offcourse it happened when were about to start back to the city.

I thought would request you all ( for those who had not been to Amriti Forest ride) to take the following in your travel kit.

      1. Clutch wire
      2. Accelerator wire.
      3. Basic tool kit
      4. Torch
      5. Waste cloth
      6. Tire tube

I understand that we do thoroughly check our vehicles before this mega ride, however, we need to carry the above to be on safe side if we happen to encounter such situation.

EDIT: Get the basic tool kit provided along with your bike.

      • Guys, I came across in Bangalore thread Page#9, Sakthi had explained with illustration as how to overtake vehicles ahead.

EDIT: We did discuss the above point during our meeting, however, I have given the above for the benefit of those who could not attend the ride on Sunday. Sorry I do not know how to bring the particular post here on this thread.

You don't have to. We are not heading to Leh.

Tank up your bike on Friday evening. The next tank up (may be 5-10 liters, depending on the bikes) can be at the BP bunk, 5-7 kms after Vaniyambadi (they accept all cards). With this we should be good to reach Yercaud. On the return leg, tank up at Salem, and again at an intermediate bunk. The intermediate bunk can be the same Vaniyambadi bunk if required.

There is a petrol bunk at the top. However, IIRC, they don't accept cards.

@Aargee: Thanks for the details. However, there is an Indian Bank ATM in Yercaud.
