@ aargee: better be safe than sorry mate. I;'ve had my fair share of cashlessness at yelagiri, when the Only ATM was out of service, the hotel guys wouldnt accept card or net transfer and we had to bring a hotel guy from there till the nearest ATM downhill and had to drop him back at yelagiri under protest. All this at 1 AM in the morning! we were dead tired when this all happened that we had to park our car somewhere in the middle of the highway and slept off and we ended up reaching chennai at 9 the next day

Man still makes me tired thinking about it!

If I were you, I would start carrying cash instead of looking out for ATM's. Certain things are understood like...
1. CC's are accepted only in cities; carry cash for food & accomodation & try to use CC as much as possible; split the cash at multiple places; never touch this cash & if you're able to locate a ATM, use the money withdrawn from ATM for shopping.
2. Mobile phone, internet connection may not work on Mountains
3. Food is expensive on Hill stations
4. Fuel consumption is doubled when you ride uphill & may prone to freeze
5. Whether you know to repair or not, always try carrying a full toolset
6. Carry a small pouch containing coins
7. Always keep/hide some money to reach home even if you're completely robbed
8. More during the weekend

Road (life) tax receipt is what I have in addition to RC, insurance, and PUC. And do not pull that DL out of your wallet; let it be there.

@Kiran: is there any shop to get the knee gaurds here in chennai. some problem in ICICI site so not able to do a transaction with cramster.

I don't know about any other shop here in Chennai who sell knee guards.

However, if you are keen, there is a sports shop near P-Orr and Sons that sell a different kind of knee guards (used in sports and skating). Since you already have a good riding pant, this should work. Just check it if you want. May be we can get the AXO stuff from Delhi at a later time.

Though there are some who had traveled to Yercaud earlier, to the benefit of all, I have shared pictures taken during last month's trip to Erode. Aargee here are those pictures....hahahaa

The pictures taken sitting in the car capturing the view of the highway which is neatly constructed and have enough space for staggered formation most of the travel. Hope this gives an idea how it is going to be.

Also the Amrithi forest pictures followed.

I have been there many times, they only do servicing, selling accessories, not that I heard of. I know the person called Awes. He does servicing all bikes including imported.

May we can do that for the Chennai Spl when we meetup with the gang at Saveetha Dental College. (With all the bikes headlight and indicators ON)

But the above will not be applicable for Aargee as his indicators ain workin.

We would not have much time to do some photo shoot on the highway posing danger to both passerby and ourselves.

May be we can go to a bay to do that. However, switching on the headlight would fine but not indicators, the timing for each bike would differ.

Having said this, only if we all decide to do so !
