      • Guys, guys, guys...

Take a step back. I'm not sure where this discussion is heading to.

I see Ambur, then I see chaos. Ambur is about 180kms from Chennai. It will easily be evening before we can get back. And mostly we have no place to chill out.

I strongly recommend Gingee. Its about 140kms from Chennai. If we start by 5.45 or 6 sharp, we can be there by 9. We can hang around at the hill, the forts, the broken temple structures.

        Check these...

          • Guys, where ever you make it, update the time & venue of meet up. I'm there for the meets, not for the ride.

@Xinfii - I thought you were back from Pune only by next weekend or did I miss reading it as this weekend?

            • I'm in Pune as I post this, but will reach Chennai tonight. Will be there for the weekend and head back. However I'm not sure of riding with you guys since the sole purpose of my travel is to spend time at home.

              • @Praveen - Woah, good that we now know as to what would it take upto Ambur and return. Thanks for giving the details.

                  • @ xinfii: the main reason ambur surfaced was for the biriyani. Gingee was already put forth but rejected mainly due to the food factor ...

@ all: Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Since the Horsely hills group needs a heads up, i would be giving them the top priority. Any one from Horsely planning for the Ambur run?? Better to get the heads up from the organisers when they are free. Vallakottai is purrfect plus it's enroute ambur.

On a personal note , I'd love to join the ambur runners if it werent for the damn arm!

So if everyone is ok with this plan, we can get back to being in a state of peacefulness and tranquility

                    Date : 25 -7- 2010
Meeting Point : Chennai Trade Center,Nandambakkam
                    Meetup time : 5 AM
                    Checkpoint Alpha : Vallakottai (Porur-Sriperumbudur-Vallakottai)
Checkpoint Bravo : Ambur (Vallakottai -Ranipet - Vellore -Ambur)

Though I hate it when a group has to split, I see a strong Interest with heading to Ambur. After getting heads up from the organizers, those heading to Bravo, can break away from Alpha. Hope there are no more prevailing confusions.

                    Inputs please

                    • Actually this gives me a good idea!!!
I'll meet up you guys at 5AM, ride from Chennai to Sriperumbudur solo & simply return back. Reason? Clocking Rx for Horsley hills; since the steed is up & running, I can clock 1050 in 3 weeks from now & trying to make up other 500 from weekend rides - how does that sounds @Sri & @Raghav?

                      • @ aargee : I can already see a halo above your head (like in the cartoons), Sounds like something major is coming up. Damn it man! Cant make it this week and for horsely. Will be meeting you guys only after the 15th. I guess someone else can take it up from here. If you are meeting up with the gang at CTC at 5, would you have enogh time to get the heads up from sri?

@ all: Can we have a group PODCAST with weekly/Monthly updates?

Nothing major Raghav, just that the steed is up & running; that's all.

                          • ^ but not too difficult to do! But In the Interest of the Lazy (including me), lets skip the Idea since we are mostly a small Number and besides that we have the forums.

But On the Other hand, I'm Planning to Record the Progress of any tour I undertake from now on. That'll make it easier to publish Tripcasts now and then.

What makes me sceptical is that several of the pictures in the testimony are incorrect. Remember I own a Cramster and the testimonial erroneously marks the armours in the pictures attached.

I received a mail from Ragav asking me to check the chennai thread and clarify.

                              @sunnyside :
kindly bring to my notice "several pictures"which are incorrect.
i own the BREEZER 1st gen and i have marked the armours as they have come with my jacket. which cramster do you own? the armours that i have marked as cramster are from the 1st gen BREEZER.if you are using other jacket the armour may be different and that 's why I specifically mentioned BREEZER 1st gen. i have crossed checked it multiple times and there is absolutely no error as far as marking is concerned.

I have about 30,000 km of experience with the cramster and DSG jackets and i know inside out of the jacket i use and that's why i refrained from comparing JK 17 with other cramster jacket or other DSG jacket. I HAVE COMPARED IT WITH BREEZER 1ST GEN AND DSG SPIKEthere has been no error in listing the facts .These are my personal experience and your experience may be different. but that doesnt give you the right to term others observation as incorrect.

for eg: After using the Breezer i wrote to Keerti to incorporate a 3rd snap button on the forearm for better adjustment and snug fitting of the elbow protector, coz i found the armour very loose fitting .so my friend and I decided to test the armour by hitting it with small toy punching bags we found that with each hit the armour would dislodge from its place which means that the moment the armour is dragged on the ground it will move away leaving the elbow exposed. however my observation was dismissed as merely a speculation. and when i crashed at some 35 kmph the cordura on the arm panel of Breezer got torn, and the elbow protector slipped off from its position leaving my elbow exposed and a lot of abrasion on my elbow as well. after this incident i have attached the 3rd snap button on the Breezer and a forearm band on DSG for keeping the armour in place. point is the manufacturers and so called experts can claim a lot of things but you can never ignore the feedback of the end users who put these products to use day in day out.

the alpinestar reflex Knee guard i got from DSG has Made in China label.
