      Thanks Buddy
That is one thing which I didn't understood - power band was always above 6.5k RPM but still this milestone was achieved

            • Just returned back from a solo 1400kms, 7days, Chennai - Bangalore - Mysore - Ooty - Mysore - Bangalore - Chennai ride. Spent 2days at Ooty, Mysore and Bangalore. Ooty was super crowded, should have expected, otherwise awesome ride except ofcourse for the unexpected petrol price hike lol

My bike performed splendidly, doing about 100-120kmph, giving about 30-40kmpl and 6 punctures !
              Regardless, Life shall go on.

Well done! 6 punctures is something unexpected on a TL tyres. Hope you had an opportunity to learn from this trip.

huh? Even TL tyres get punctures just that its safer. Its just plain bad luck ! Have a leak between the tyre and rim too. The local puncture shop guy told me to add a tube to stop the leak but then I did not want a blow out when am doing 100 considering the luck I was running on. So I stopped every now and then to check the pressure.

Experience wise it was fun riding alone, talking to oneself not a care in the world forgetting about everything that bothers you and just enjoy the bike, the road and the scene. I was well prepared, which is obvious, since am in xbhp and am bombarded by information about touring lol

The only new things i learnt about would be about my bike, I hadnt done a long ride with her since I got her max did 300kms. And I couldnt stop comparing it with my older bike FZS. God, city bikes are for city, they just plain suck on the highway. P220's power was just so helpful on the highway and the awesome headlights did about 6hrs of night riding its just exhilarating !! , taking bumpy corners at 120kmph is a no-no, scared the s**t out of me !

Its sheer bad luck or a question on riding skills; myself & sayhi2sai did 1700 Kms in 3 days over some of completely broken roads; some high speed pothole hits between Tiruchendur - Nagercoil, tire was touchwood. Was riding through silky smooth Chennai byepass & that's when my rear tire gave up.

But again, not a single puncture on my Rx since 2006...atleast.

Like I said bad luck. I rode my dad's bike with TT and never had a puncture but with my FZ's rear tyre and this road trip the luck reversed.

Every bike has a pro and a con, accept it. In the city nothing can match the nimbleness of FZ.

Explain how riding skill helps prevent tyre punctures pl? You mean to say am suppose to train my eye to find the dark brown nail on the black top at 100kmph?

Punctures cant be helped. I had some 5 punctures on my FZs rear tyre (supposedly a common problem due to its width?) but when I went to elagiri I dint have a single puncture. I even took a puncture repair kit since I was sure it would happen. With the P220 I dint expect a puncture since the last one and a half years I had only 3.

Re-quoting - Every bike has a pro and a con, accept it. In the city nothing can match the nimbleness of FZ. On the highway P220 is better than FZ. And obviously CBR, Ninja and so on and so forth are gonna be better than P220. Stating a fact is not disrespecting a bike, spoke from my experience. Take it light guys !

Oh!!! I'm sorry, its not riding skills, its common sense

On a good smooth highway, you seldom find nails; atleast not in the 22.7K odd kms on my CBR. Its either on the two lane roads, pot holed or offroading where one is more prone for punctures. Pot holed roads, I haven't rode beyond 80, offroading...needless to say But again, 6 punctures are quite unheard, attribute to ill luck like I said before.

Then, should Hayabusa or car tires should be flat the moment it comes out of garage or what
