Guys, Just planning a ride to Yercaud on Saturday 21st of this month & back on Sunday 22nd afternoon. No need to mention about yercaud as many knows. Interested riders pour in.

As of now these are the riders shown interest.

1) Avinash
2) Sriram II (Yellowspunk)
3) Myself

This route is usual till Tirupattur and from there its unusual. Heard from some of my relatives and friends that the route will be very scenic & its no mans road and also these roads must be ridden rather than driven!

Regarding Accomodation I dont have any idea. Experienced tourers like Ananth could help.

I had done this route in 2009-10 - In this route i crashed *twice* in the same night - Yes was a long solo Night ride

Route is really nice, But roads are not so great - Not sure of current condition though.. Plenty of stay options in Yercaud.. One of them is here:

I suggest you to go there after the Monsoon hits Yercaud! I was there few days back and believe me it was hot as hell! And there is not a drop of water in the waterfalls! The Yercaud lake is half dried and looks pathetic!

It seems like the interested guys shifting the plan to meghamalai on next month instead...

I suggest you to go there after the Monsoon hits Yercaud! I was there few days back and believe me it was hot as hell! And there is not a drop of water in the waterfalls! The Yercaud lake is half dried and looks pathetic!

my friend went last weekend and he said there was enough water for boating and it was cooler than chennai. he dint visit the waterfall though.

Meghamalai is not next month and its not a end of all sort of trip - Just that people are more curious to visit them (I guess)

And would suggest you guys go in AUgust - September (Before Dec) instead of July. There is hardly any rain this year.

I hope you friend has not seen Yercaud lake in its prime state ! Water for boating is there even now, but still it is just half of its normal state!

Yep, As by the words above from the regular tourers I think tis not feasible now and plan up later.
