Re: The Official Chennai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
It was fun to meet the group nearly after a month. It was nice to induct newbies into the group and expect them to gel with the group during meets.
Thanks to Nishant for suggesting Grillz for the dinner. I enjoyed the ambience, hospitality and offcourse (veg)food very much.

Thanks to all new guys & for coming & making this meet a large one; IIRC, the largest meet we had was when all of us rode to Pondicherry via ECR & returned via Tindivanam, about 19 of us. This makes us second largest with 18 members.
Thanks to thegame who organized the meet, suggesting Grillz & all the members for participating
Last but not the least, I hope you all enjoyed the dinner as much as I paid for it

Now this comes one of the cherishable moments happened in my life. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
There were number of checks on our way back to home equiring whether we were racing.
Adding to the light, i forgot my papers, so i was detained at all check posts. Thanks to my father to get me back home safely.

I thought had mentioned in my post earlier to have vehicle papers?!?!Originally posted by ranjeethbe View PostNow this comes one of the cherishable moments happened in my life. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

It is imperative to carry vehicle papers and driving license irrespective of the distance we ride.

Yes Sriram, I remember your post to carry papers. Infact after seeing your post, i thought of replacing the original documents (was with me all these days)to Photocopies which will be safer. Atlast on our G2G day, i had taken the copies but accidentaly missed to carry both the original and copies.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostI thought had mentioned in my post earlier to have vehicle papers?!?!

Good, that it was a G2G and not a ride. Else would have been much worse for you as well the team. A Lesson for you and a reminder for the rest of us.Originally posted by ranjeethbe View PostYes Sriram, I remember your post to carry papers. When I and James were returning we were stopped and asked for papers. James had an Andaman registered bike and didn't have an NOC with him. We were let off after a lot of talking and convincing the cops. After this incident, I was thinking, suppose we go on a ride with TN registered bikes to other states, will they be asking for NOC too? Or is it necessary only if we are going to stay in the other state for a while?Originally posted by ranjeethbe View PostNow this comes one of the cherishable moments happened in my life. Point #1. Police tend to suspect all the vehicles registered from other state and ask this question if genuine to detect stolen vehicles. However, it is better to have NOC in hand if one expects to stay in a different state for >6 months. If not, it is better to keep the railway receipt/LR (Lorry Receipt)/Petrol bunk bill to substantiate that it was recently brought and would return home. (Pratical experience 15 years back). If I'm not wrong, NOC taken from the home state RTO is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. One can check with local RTO agent if that differs.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostWhen I and James were returning we were stopped and asked for papers. Point #2. NOC is not required for travelling to other state. Infact your vehicle registration certification is valid to take the bike entire political boundary of India. Just that you need to convince him by showing your home state license that you have come on a vacation. In most of the cases, while on road trip, after seeing the saddle, they don't tend to ask for NOC, however, some bad apples might ask out of the world questions for 'other source of income'.
