Chennai - Dindigul is no sweat, An early morning start would mean you are there in Dindigul well before lunch and Kodai before Sunset.

You would have enough rest in Kodai before starting to Munnar. Also, what are you going to do in Kodai for an extra day? You would be better of spending in Tea estates of Munnar than Kodai. It would be more than relaxed, unless you are riding an RX all the way from chennai

I just dont wanna miss sunrise and sunset at Kodai. I know its a breeze but its a group ride na.. Am sure Sunny and Rajiv will be there for the 1st day Sunrise itself.. :P

Is there an alternative route to dindigul from Chennai? Do we have to do the same route to and fro?!

There is not much to see in Kodai. Ride from Kodai to Munnar will not be too tiring (I guess) and we have ample time in Munnar to explore the place.

What is your ideology of Relaxed Ride? You reach there well before Sunset and start only after lunch. That gives you an option to view both Sunset / Sunrise in Kodai.

IMO - It is way beyond being relaxed, But enjoying the ride. I'm sure you would enjoy riding from Kodai to Munnar than playing with your hand in Kodai!

lets go with the plan. Its 4 days ride and we are doing just 1300 Kms. Its a relaxed ride after all.

We have finalized Sujatha Inn as our stay at Munnar for 2 nights. Confirmation on Stay at Kodai is still few phone calls away. Amount will be approx 500 bucks/person/night that makes it 1500 bucks/person for 4 days trip. Please transfer Rs 1500 to my account by Friday the max. Please be informed that this amount is just for stay for 4 Days/3 nights. This doesn't include food and anything else. There is a roundabout route if we intend to do it....apparently its a jeep track.

@Jkhan69 : that route which leads to berijam via poombarai is also manned by forest dept guards! So in Gandalf Style "you shall not Pass" so 'easily' That track is easily do-able by bike though. Its not even close to Meghamalai.

Guys,
Below is the Onward Ride Plan which we will try to Follow. Also, I wish to keep everyone informed that this gonna be a Relaxed ride knowing the present climate in South India. There will be need for frequent breaks for re hydration which cannot be avoided. I wish to start as early as possible taking advantage of early morning coolness which will not stay long ( 8 am by Max).

04:00 AM - Assemble in front of Vendaloor Zoo/ Crescent College Gate.
04:15 AM - Start the ride.
08:00 AM - Breakfast at Ulundurpet (1 Hour Break).
01:00 PM - Lunch at Dindigul (1 Hour Break).
05:00 PM - Reach Kodai.

Small breaks are not mentioned here as it goes with our comfort. All the necessary documents and riding gears are must as we already know but there are few things which are equally important.
1. Keep enough water for yourself (I mean your OWN Personal stock) - No need of "I will buy on the way" Business !!!
2. Keep some energy Bars.
3. Sports drinks will come handy for re-hydration.
