Thanks Aargee for the quick reply! BTW long back I have seen one Karizma with Top box in some thread and i thought like it is from Chennai Xbhp, so that asked here. Bad luck for me. Hunting continues then..

May I come in As sunny said there is a lot of difference between the imported givi and Indianized GIVI. The indian givi does the job pretty well. Costs around 2 -2.5k in Bangalore and rack costs around 300-400 bucks which is a reworked Passion grabrail. The only disadvantages of the box I felt was that its prone to crosswinds on thr open 4 and 6 lane highways and also you need to stuff it completely otherwise it keeps making noise which is irritating .

P.S: the GIVI that I used was borrowed from a friend of mine, not mine

As my next venture, I'm on to RD 350. But the price in Chennai seems to hit 100k. Well I cannot afford that much. Anyone know off any RD in Chennai that I could affored? 30k may be. Well I could get it and restore it slowly but I cannot spent 100k in one go.

All internet search leads to www.olx.in which says 100k and 200k. That bothers me.

If I'm getting RD350 for even 60k, I would have bought it atleast 3 years back. Lot of Bangalore dealers already decamped RD in any condition in Chennai and around years ago. They are ready to pay any amount to get one. Any RD seller knows the current market rates.

My advice is to search in the North than South. For your budget, if you are getting even a withered is considered 'lucky guy'.

I was looking for an rd in chennai in 2010. Back then I was quoted 80k for a bad condition rd. I dont think you are going to find one for 30k. Try to locate one in some remote place where hopefully nobody knows the worth of a rd.

One can easily find a scrap(paperless) rd in the range of 40-60K. And if one has contacts in RTO can get the papers done. There are other illegal options as well. Though I wouldn't recommend that. I had to sell my rd a couple of days back as a scrap for 55k as things didn't materialize.

Guys need some help, planning for a 4 day tour to Kodai this Thursday to Sunday, any off beat places to visit nearby Kodai ? We are looking to get permission to explore a forest area near Kodai on Saturday. In the off chance we don't get the permission, looking at other options.. somewhere we can explore a bit and stay overnight if feasible..on the way back to Chennai would be better..
