As of now, we are just blocking the rooms and not paying any money as advance. Once people are confirmed, we will pay some advance to book the rooms for the given dates. Please confirm your presence for the ride by Tuesday at max (thats just 1 week before the actual date of ride). Breakup of the hotel booking will be posted here by today evening and I will give the Account Details of mine to transfer the money. People who transfer the money on time will be considered confirmed.

Chennai Xbhp - April Ride

Date : 11th April 2013

Plan :

Day 1 : Start from Chennai reach Kolli Hills - Stay over night
Day 2 : Start towards Kodai early afternoon - Reach Kodai - Stay Over night
Day 3 : Explore places in and around Kodai - Stay Over night
Day 4 : Start towards Chennai - reach chennai by evening.

Rooms will be booked keeping this plan in mind. I have kept an approx head count of 8 (+/- 2). I will block the rooms and keep every one informed about the cost breakup in next few days.

I rode to Kolli and back over the weekend. Apart from the Hair Pin Bends, nothing much out there. The Akash Ganga which is the major waterfall there (around 400 steep steps to be climbed down and back up ) doesn't have much water flow. Just a small trickle down. Weather wasn't like that of a hill station as well. Hot, not much of a breeze definitely not Yercaud or Ooty. However, the 70 hair pins ( add another 5 or so if you want to reach Semmedu) makes it a worth while trip ...

I have a wedding to attend in Karur on Sunday ( Day 4) so thinking if I can join you guys till Kodai and then leave on Day 3 to Karur.. Day 4 I can start around 1pm or so from Karur for Chennai... Will confirm by tomorrow.

Just FYI - It was very very HOT in Coorg. Please check the temperature before finalizing the place.

Kodai is at 21 Degrees , Ooty also at 21...and Namakkal is at 37!!

Just thought of having a meet since it has been long time.

FYI.. In the on 7th morning i'll be going to Pondy for petty work say half hour max, commutation - by bus as my ride needs some attention. If at all anyone still wants to join me.

Also doing 500kms and then again riding the next day would be tiring. We should have a relaxed trip.

Chennai - Dindigul is no sweat, An early morning start would mean you are there in Dindigul well before lunch and Kodai before Sunset.

You would have enough rest in Kodai before starting to Munnar. Also, what are you going to do in Kodai for an extra day? You would be better of spending in Tea estates of Munnar than Kodai. It would be more than relaxed, unless you are riding an RX all the way from chennai

There is not much to see in Kodai. Ride from Kodai to Munnar will not be too tiring (I guess) and we have ample time in Munnar to explore the place.
