Hey Guys,

Would be coming to Chennai in January Mid, 2015. Would anybody be kind enough to rent out a racing suit or provide me contact details of somebody who would?
If the suit suffers any damages it would be paid for.

This thread is so cool :O I'm from Chennai and I'm a beginner. I just got my first bike and would like to join any newbie rider here with their new bike. I thought I can complete run in with them and go on long rides :P :O you all seem to be experts with awesome bikes, here! would like to join you guys too in the future!!

Rx100 to race ready

Hi,

i have a Rx100(1998), the bike is in average condition, now I m looking to make it race ready with increased acceleration and top speed and jus to ride in the city on weekends (it will not be my primary bike).

please help me with a mechanic who can do engine work like porting and upjetting the carburettor I want to retain the original rx100 look. So I don't want any cosmetic work.

please suggest a mechanic in CHENNAI (reliable and talented)

there is one called Friends Auto, in Jawaharlal Nehru road (i.e.) after Vadapalani signal en route to Ashok Pillar, It will be on the left. He is a genuine guy and does good mods on the bikes.

What one need to do is, have a clear picture of your requirement and read threads in 2 stroke section for knowledge gathering. I'm not saying you shouldn't get work from mechanics, but one should have an understanding of how engine works so that mechanics don't take you for a ride. All the best.

Thanks, something related to the body I ll do myself but something with respect to engine I m afraid I might screw it up.
Regarding mechanics, I have done mechanical engineering and have good theoretical knowledge and understanding. But I lack practical knowledge. That's I m afraid to give it to my usual mechanic who services my FZ. I want an expert who can make me understand the practical usage of engine porting, upjetting etc

Then, I would direct you to Bangalore as it would fit your requirement. I have personally seen Rx getting the due treatment.
Exhaust Chambers, calculations, compression testing, ignition timing, port geometry are some important aspects of performance modification.

Only if you have replacements handy. Some experiments might not be reversible.
