Kind attention to all the participants, please take a moment to go through the below points. As As we are closer to the ride date, a simple check on your preparation to help you.

1. Carry plastic bags to protect your electronics such as mobile phones, powerbank etc in case of rain.
2. Keep your rain gear such as Raincoat and rain pants at top layer of your luggage for quick access.
3. Take an extra headlight bulb just in case. Shouldn't occupy more space.
4. Extra pair of gloves is advisable.
5. Extra pair of socks so you don't end up wearing the wet socks the next day.
6. Please take a Pollution test and obtain PUC. Kerala is unpredictable.
7. Please write all important numbers in a piece of papers and have it with you safely.
8. Always keep a watch of your tank range(fuel) and top up diligently.
9. Carry basic tool kit to counter small issues. Carry a scotch tape(something strong to hold up).
10. Don't panic if you are left behind or lost. The group will wait and try contacting you.
11. Kindly service your bike. Give special attention to your wheel axle bolt/nut, chain slackness, brakes, coolant/engine oil levels and battery.
12. Buy extra bungee ropes to fasten the luggage.
13. It is expected that there will be mild to heavy rains either on the way or at Thekkady.
14. Carry vehicle documents that includes, RC Book, Insurance, PUC and driving licence.
15. Someone in our group will carry a small medical basic kit. However, if you have any specific medicines kindly take it along to save some trouble.
16. Please carry duplicate key and keep it with your luggage.
17. Slippers/Floaters
18. Waist belt
19. A small torchlight
20. Waste cloth for bike.

Also, let's remember to carry a pair of slippers. Out of personal experience, it's not really comfortable to roam around with your riding boots on.

ISG2G Pre-ride II on July 2nd 2017

Every year there are newbies added to the clan and in order to give them an idea of long rides, getting to know the riding style of each riders so the fellow riders get accustomed & also learn about the safety aspects, these rides are conducted. As we were already done with the pre ride I, there won't be any need of complete explanation about the second one. None the less, this second pre ride is conducted for the absentees of the pre ride I and I request everybody to participate for the upcoming ride who missed out the former!

Route milestones:

Meeting point - Chennai Trade Center, gate(opp Chennai tea stall), Nandambakkam
Date - 02/07/2017 (Sunday)
Time - 5:30 AM


This is gonna be a circuit ride.

Chennai - Sriperumbudur - kanchipuram - Mamandur - Kanchipuram (Break the fast) - Walajabad - Pazhaya seevaram - Chengalpet Highway (NH 45) - Katankulathur - Home.

As we will be heading to lake, riders who are interested shall take a quick dip!

Please note the pre-requisites for the pre-ride:

1. Valid papers for the bike
2. Full riding gear
3. Positive attitude

ISG2G Participants are requested to note down the details

Date - 7/7/2017

Reporting Time - 4:45 AM
Please be there on time as there will be a small briefing before we start.

Route - Chennai - Ulundurpet - Trichy - Dindigul - Theni - Cumbum - Kumily - Thekkady

Points to be noted:-
1. Tank up and air check the previous day.
2. Always Headlight ON.
3. Pass the hand signals from the biker front of you.
4. Use Blinker/Indicators and don't forget to switch it OFF.
5. Do not ride close the biker in front of you, keep a bike's gap distance during 4 lane highway.
6. Ensure your bike has both mirrors and watch out for other motorists coming behind you.
7. If there are any cars would like to move ahead of you, safely give way.
8. Maintain your riding positions during the group ride.
9. Keep lead and sweep informed anytime during the ride if you want to break away for nature's call etc.
10. At breakfast breaks and lunch time, ensure that you don't leave anything valuable on your saddle. Carry your helmet all the time.
11. Please follow traffic rules and do not get intimidated by other motorists.
12. Request to maintain the group speed so that we could reach the destination comfortably without delay.
