Me and Athul intent to ride to Pondy from Rameshwaram tomorrow and leave Pondy the following day, since we're dearly short of time please suggest a couple of the must visit places of Pondy.

I'd considered posting it on the Pondy thread but the same seems to be inactive for a while, hence posting it here.

Planning a Chennai - Thrissur Bike Trip

Hi everyone,

Its been a long time pending but I am planning on going to my native Thrissur by bike.

Can you suggest me the optimum route?

Google Maps suggests the route via Chennai Theni Hwy/Trichy-Chennai Hwy and NH544 (Ulundurpet-Salem).

I am 29yrs and own a Dominar 400 in great condition.

Have done a lot of 200-300kms rides around chennai but this is the first time going this long.

And any helpful suggestions or tips will also be awesome.

This was the route that I took in last may

Thirussur- palakad-coimbatore-salem-ulundurpet-chennai

Apart from a small stretch between palakkad-coimbatore, the rest of the roads are in great shape apart. you can easily maintain 110+.

You should be able to do in 13 hrs including breaks.
