Hey Eric,
I will probably join you guys at Nandi hills, 4:30 is a bit too early for me to get up. I want to check out the MRF National Supercross Championship after that. Anyone interested in tagging along ? Posting the contents of todays ToI article ( ePaper Lite - Times of India Publications)
The MRF National Supercross Championship begins this year at the Manyata Tech Park, with over 100 riders set to display their skills in the off-road race. The event on Sunday,May 30,to be preceded by two days of scrutiny, official practice sessions and the qualifying rounds, will see top riders from the country taking part.
Leading the pack will be CS Santosh of TVS Racing, who is set to dominate the foreign open class along with teammate Aravind KP,who returned recently from the United States after a training session. However, last years champion Veer Patel of Baroda,a privateer who set a record of sorts by topping the heap in the foreign open category, will be missing in action owing to a knee injury.
With the city known for its love for motor sports, the organisers,Sportstrek,Pune, are expecting a good number of entries in the local class. This year,we have a new championship class for privateers on foreign bikes. We will see major participation from around the country what with these boys hoping to be picked up by teams in due course, organiser of the event and chairman of Supercross commission of India,Shyam Kothari, said.
With regard to the bikes to be used,Kothari said groups B (foreign chassis with Indian engines) and C (Indian bikes) would feature regular vehicles that the Indian market offers.
In some categories, modification is permitted and these bikes will be fitted with Indian or foreign race factory-made after market components to make them more competitive.Group A consists of foreign machines Honda CR,Yamaha YZ,Suzuki RM and KTM.These machines will be of the two- or four-stroke kinds ranging from 125 to 250cc.They will form the most prestigious race of the day, he said.
The track, measuring around 1.2-km,comprises six double jumps, three triple jumps, one table top stretching to about 100 feet, eight berms and a whoop de doo segment.Pratap Bhagwat and Ashok Yande have designed the track.
Entries will be received at the venue.Contact: 098901-68000 or 098500-85900.Race begins at 10am

So guys what would be the final timings for the ride?
I guess 3 would be the best time as we can reach there in 1.5-2hrs and then enjoy the sunrise and be back.
Any suggestions?My thoughts...
