• Good mechanic for my TVS Apache RTR 160 in Bangalore

Hi ,

Shrikanth here from bangalore. I own a 2012 Apache RTR 160 . almost 2 1/2 years old now . brilliant bike. everything was fine until recently had to change the chain sprockets because of a stupid mechanic in the service center who loosened the chain tension to insane amounts. After my numerous runs to many tvs service centers here in bangalore i have come to the conclusion that no soul knows to rectify a problem properly here, They are only fit to do general checkups and change oil n filters . I have this problem with the front disk brakes . It pulses whenever i hold it down like a disk brake with ABS would do. But i do not have ABS in my bike. this is scary when travelling at high speeds on highways when the bike jumps like a kangaroo when the front brakes are engaged. I went to many service stations and asked so many times to identify and rectify the cause of this problem. all i got was a hole in the pocket.. they made me change the disk plate saying it was bent, then the brake pads. and still the problem continues. had been to the service station yesterday and surprisingly the guy says my new disk plate which was installed by them self is bent again ... i couldnt help but laugh on their face .. thats it no more tvs service centers.. mororns dont know head from tail.

PLEASE SUGGEST ME A GOOD MECHANIC WHO DOES QUALITY JOB EVEN IF CHARGED MORE IN BANGALORE

do we have any sand blasting / salt blasting service providers somewhere in vicinity of kasturi nagar. 10km range is fine.
currently my guys are located out of peenya and that is like a nightmare to travel every other day.

The bent disc plate is usually the problem and I too had faced it. But then I got a mechanic who smoothened it on lathe and it was fine, but I dont recommend this method. Best is a new disc plate. Either they just charged you for a new plate and didnt change it or the there is also a possibility that the rim is bent which made the new disc to bend too.

With the ISG2G coming just next month, I guess we need to plan now for a pre-ride G2G to ensure safety and better interaction among members specially when its a 15+ hrs ride.

Good point nelson_sanjoy.
Preferably we have thought for 2 rides In order to know the group and riding style of each other.
Planning for a ride on 16th march 30th march and also on 6th April
But out of these 2 rides will be for sure, in which one of the rides will be on NH4 preferably till Chitradurga Yes it is far but it will be a good run as we will be doing a longer ride at time of ISG2G. Other one will be a shorter one. But will ask all people who are joining for ISG2G they should take it as mandatory pre ride.

For now this is the preferred list who have shown interest to join from bangalore

Great idea sirji, i'll chip in if i get any ideas, though i'll prefer to stay away from black, that's so cliched , lets have something different this time.
But i'll always accept, black is an all time favorite, and if we don't come up with something better, lets stick to black.
In fact i liked the idea of @snehith bhai, black with a contrasting graphic.

ummm...i smell windmills . but yes, it is indeed a very nice initiative bro. The sole purpose of this initiative is to get to know the group well because the toughest part of this ride is that we would be on a dead straight road for hours and hence knowing the group and the style of each rider, communication between us during this stretch is going to be very very important because we need to make sure no one is left behind or uncomfortable during the entire stretch. Another important thing to note out here is that we need to come up with a plan in case we do not wish to cover the entire stretch from Bangalore to the ISG2G destination in a day (I am not saying it is impossible but we need to take into account the views of every rider who would be joining us, if at all they are comfortable riding the entire 700 KM+ in a day).

• good meachnic\service center

Can some one suggest me a good service center in Bangalore. I have TVS fiero. I am not able to find a good service center near my area. Last time I gave it to a local mechanic, he cheated me. he said he replaced many things and charge me, but didnt even change the engine oil though he charged me for that. The previous one also did the same. So I am reluctant to give the bike for servicing any where in my area. If you guys have any suggestion of genuine mechanics please let me know.

Hi Guys,

I own RE classic 350 i bought the bull last April, I have finished my all free Services in RE service center and I found their service pathetic at some times.

During my last service they have just washed it and changed engine oil and given it back to me after 3 days.

Can some one help me in finding out a good RE mechanic in Bangalore.
