Thanks to all the beautiful people who made the G2G meet today a fruitful and an amazing one. A much needed discussion happened over the upcoming ISG2G and I am putting up some of the following points which have been brought up today. Kindly note that these points are still open for suggestions, the more we meet, the more firm the preparations would be.

1. The entire Bangalore group would be broken down to two groups. One would be a slow group (consisting of the riders who would prefer to maintain a speed of 80-85 kmph) and the other would be a fast group (consisting of the riders who would prefer to maintain a speed of 100 kmph) along the entire ride.
2. The slow group would be leaving from the Neelamangala First Toll Booth at 11:00 PM on 17th April, followed by the fast group who would be leaving from the Neelamangala First Toll Booth at 11:45 PM on 17th April. Kindly note here, that the timings are still under discussion and would be finalized during the pre-rides. As of now, the timings are based on the discussion we had today.
3. As per the estimate, we are assuming the slow group to have most number of riders and hence the lead and the tail needs to be picked up wisely. The fast group should always keep an eye on the road incase the slow group is stranded/stuck due to any issue.
4. As being brought up by the riders today in the G2G, some have a range of 220-240 kms on their steeds so we have come up with the following idea for butt breaks cum fuel stops.
1st Stop : Chitradurga (a distance of 190 KMs). There should be a butt break of 15 minutes and during the same time, we are planning to make it mandatory for all to fuel up (even if for the riders who has a higher range). This would make us avoid unnecessary fuel ups in the middle of the ride.
2nd Stop: Dharwad (a distance of 230 KMs). This would be the longest leg of the ride and we can have another butt break/fuel up for all the steeds (mandatory). We can take a break of 30 minutes here. We can have breakfirst here as per our estimate that we would reach the outskirts of Dharwad by early morning.
3rd Stop: Kolhapur (a distance of 180 KMs). There should be a butt break of 30 minutes here and a mandatory fuel up for all the steeds.
4th Stop: Karad (a distance of 75 KMs). We would regroup at this place (both the slow and fast groups) and ride from here as one single group. From here on till Chiplun we would be riding through SH and we need to keep our eyes on the road. Hence we suggest to take ample amount of rest before we start our final leg towards Velneshwar.

These are the stops we have come up with and these are open for suggestions. We would be discussing on these further on the pre-rides. We would be finalizing the groups, the leads and the tails for both the fast and slow groups, the group riding etiquettes during the pre-rides so that we can help each other when we are riding in a group. It should be taken into mind that it is not about speed or any other thing in this ride, rather it is about we, riding as a group.

It may sound obvious but I would like to add that mirrors on both left and right should be mandatory, come what may.
Many riders remove it for the sake of looks, which i totally disagree .

And regarding the list of things to carry, we could distribute the things to carry amongst us, so that there would be no redundancy and less luggage therefore.

@All It was a pleasure meeting all you guys. Wish we could meetup regularly to know each other well not only on the road, but also off it.

We could stop just before HUBLI(200 kms from Chitradurga, as there are lots of fuel stops and dhabas(The famous Kamat upachar)Location :

Thanks for the 2 group strategy, will help puny little, slow riders like me. Thumbs up for the 80-85 group :-)
Also let's plan in such a way that we end up being on a scenic stretch during the sunrise, as it will be good for a group photograph as well as refreshment. Which in turn means an early-morning breakfast combined with petrol refill and sunrise photography.

Ride date: 30th March(Sunday)
Ride destination: Kamath Upchar, Tumkur Road

Final meeting point: Yeshwantpur Railway Station Bus stop (http://tinyurl.com/nn8phsx)

(Riders can co-ordinate within themselves and join together and ride together to reach Yeshwantpur Railway Station Bus stop latest by 5:45am)
Everyone will meet up and start sharp at 6:00am

Mandatory things: All necessary Docs like DL, RC Card, Insurance papers and Emission Control Card.
Basic Riding gears including Helmet, Armoured Jacket, Gloves, Knee guards and Elbow Guards. Same applicable for pillions also.

A word of utmost caution/importance: Please be on time.
Also please Fill up the tank a day before, before going to sleep.
Those who have ridden with us earlier are strictly instructed to be in compete riding gears, else you will be asked to continue your own ride. People joining for the first time and are not having proper riding gear they are advised to have proper helmet, a thick jacket, proper denim jeans, shoes.
NO RASH RIDING WILL BE INCULCATED AND EVERYONE HAS TO FOLLOW THE GROUP RIDING ETIQUETTES.

Wonderfully done [MENTION=37862]snehithpereira[/MENTION] and kudos to your effort. This AFAIK should be put in the first page itself of the ISG2G thread.

I just looked at it and didn't see mention of good helmets( I know its obvious still), apologies if I skipped.
I would like to stress on the importance of a good helmet (please no cap/open face/cracked/very old ones) .

There is a very good article on helmets in the other BHP forum which has researched and unbiased facts .I can link that if its allowed.

The list is a good one and covers most of the items. However i would like to point out a few corrections:

1. In the first point you have mentioned armoured/denim jacket in Riding gears. Please note that we are not supporting any other jacket rather than armoured jacket. So please strike the denim jacket off.

Good point - I am more bothered about function than form. Denims would be of no use in case of fall.
Whereas I have seen some bionic protectors which can be worn under shirt and are of good quality if in-case somebody doesn't want to wear a jacket.

Thread title says something but people are discussing something
