Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder for the motorcycling sport of MotoGP has chosen TATA Communications as the exclusive video distribution partner for the FIM MotoGP World Championship and the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). Great to see a Telecom company from India emerged to be a part of the global broadcast partner for motorcycle racing with Dorna.
Through the partnership with Dorna, TATA will be distributing the racing event’s action from five continents to over 80 media partners, reaching over 200 million households, using its global super fibre and satellite network. Tata Communications’s Media Ecosystem technology enables Dorna to collaborate several innovation projects such as low-latency, Ultra-High Definition (UHD), 360 degrees live OOT video feeds, remote production and High-Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging. The TATA ecosystem technology will sync the video feeds from any location to any device seamlessly by combining the traditional video contribution services and IP connectivity in a global cloud-based platform.
To deliver the high-quality racing content across different platforms, TATA’s global superfast network will be placed in all the MotoGP locations which will double the current distribution capacity and boost the video feeds, footage, 360 degree onboard cameras, and commentary. The world’s largest subsea fibre network of its kind, creating a fully-converged, end-to-end solutions, cloud and connectivity services enables the remote operations faster than before from a newly-built media hub in Barcelona, Spain for Dorna. Existing media partners of Dorna will also use the TATA communications’ network for their global live video delivery from the circuits.
