It is always an exciting prospect for us to be a part of a ride. Even more so if there’s a purpose or a cause attached to it. And when it comes to motorcycling and promoting it as a lifestyle, we have always tried to be at the forefront of it.

So when we heard about MotoSoul and all that the first season achieved, we wanted to be a part of the second season. So when MotoSoul 2023 was announced, we decided that we were going to be a part of it. And since we are always looking for adventure and opportunities to ride, it was inevitable that we were going to ride from Delhi, the home of xBhp, to Goa, the venue for MotoSoul!

An icing on the cake for this phenomenal ride was the motorcycle of choice- a TVS Ronin. A truly unique and very capable motorcycle from TVS, Ronin exceeded our expectations repeatedly throughout this trip. With saddlebags and tank bags mounted, backpack ready, riding gear and helmet on, we were on our way to Goa to be a part of the ultimate biking festival!

Upon embarking on this journey from Delhi, our first stop was Jaipur. For the Pink City, we had reserved a day for exploration. There’s so much to see and explore in Jaipur that even a whole day seemed inadequate. But we had a schedule to stick to. Regardless, we still got to explore Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh. After exploring the city a bit, we made our way to our next stop for the day- Chittorgarh.

Chittorgarh is a city brimming with heritage and culture. In some places, it seems like Father Time has had no impact on this place. From the monuments to the aura of the city, Chittorgarh proves time and again why Rajasthan is a place that needs a lot of time to explore properly. One of the highlights from our time in the city was visiting the Chittorgarh Fort- one of the largest forts in India.

From Chittorgarh, we made our way to Vadodara via Godhara. Vadodara is a prominent motorcycling city and the rise in popularity of motorcycling has been nothing short of meteoric. We have also noticed a serious inclination towards motorsports in the city as well.

Because of a tight schedule, we did not spend a lot of time exploring Vadodara and made our way to our next destination- Thane. In Thane, we met up with the riders of AOG Mumbai and with them, we rode to Goa the next day.

Throughout the way, TVS Ronin was a joy to ride. Though we wanted to see what all Ronin was capable of, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t a little sceptical about the capacity and power of the motorcycle. And TVS Ronin proved to us again how numbers on paper are just that, numbers on paper.

In the real world, the TVS Ronin is a mighty fun motorcycle to ride. It is engaging, it is comfortable, and it does everything you ask of it without any drama. So many kilometres, such diverse climate, such varying terrain and the absolute thrashing that a long ride like this could be; and yet, TVS Ronin stood tall through everything and proved why it is such a wonderful motorcycle.

The design of the motorcycle grabs a lot of attention and so does the bassy exhaust. While it’d be easy to categorise Ronin as a modern classic, it’ll be ignorant as well to simplify it to that degree. It is neither a roadster nor a cruiser. It has carved its niche and that is why it more than lives up to its tagline #Unscripted.

TVS has always been meticulous in its approach to making motorcycles. With their decades of racing experience, they made TVS Apache a venerable brand with multiple motorcycles in the portfolio. The TVS Ronin though is a different beast and therefore, it needed a different approach. While the Apache series battles the clock on a racetrack, TVS Ronin had to ace the game of materialising the ‘freedom of motorcycling’. And it has done just that and then some!

We loved the engine and its easy-going characteristics. It is smooth and revs cleanly with zero hiccups. The power delivery is progressive and the torque curve makes the motorcycle as good in the cities as it is on the highways. The chassis and suspension setup is also geared towards a steady yet confident pace with the geometry complementing those traits. All in all, the TVS Ronin is a perfect motorcycle for a wide variety of riding styles, including touring.

Admiring the motorcycling along with the views it enabled us to see, we reached Goa in no time and with that, it was time to indulge in the Ultimate Biking Festival- MotoSoul 2023.
