The season comes to an end with the final race in Qatar. Chaz Davies finished first in both race 1 as well as race 2 while Rea was crowned the champion.

Race one – 

In the race 1 of the World SBK Championship of this week, Aruba Ducati’s Chaz Davies put up a great performance to finish 1^st in Qatar.

Meanwhile Jonathan Rea who came 2^nd in the race was crowned World Suberbike Champion for the second successive time.

Rea was at the pole position and started by leading the race but was eventually overtaken by Davies and Honda’s Nicky Hayden into turn one but managed to pull back by blowing past by Hayden.

Rea looked content in the 2^nd place, as he only required two points from the race to secure his title.

Sylvain Guintoli who passed Skyes on lap three taking up the 4th place caught Nicky Hayden. The Frenchman took seven laps to pass Hayden and finished 3^rd.

Skyes gained ground in the final stage of the race and managed to finish 4^th having Nicky Hayden finish on 5^th place.

WorldSBK Race Two –

Race two of the World SBK saw the similar result having Chaz Davies finishing 1^st in Qatar on Sunday.

Davies took the advantage and forged ahead as the newly crowned champion went wide and dropped down to the 13^th place.

Local Kawasaki rider Saeed Al-Sulaiti’s bike caught fire spilling oil on the track, which saw the race being red-flagged.

Rea fought back form his position up to third place. Guintoli finished fourth, ahead of Leon Haslam and Jordi Torres.

WorldSSP

The final WorldSSP race of the season witnessed Honda’s Kyle Smith finishing first leaving behind the current world champion Sofuoglu at the 2^nd place. Jules Cluzel finished 3^rd and secured the overall runner up spot in the 2016 FIM Supersport World Championship.

Luke Stapleford and Sofuoglu took off side by side at lights out but got caught up in the first corner as Alex Baldolini shot away at the front. Stapleford ran into trouble on turn 10 ending his race early.

Christoffer Bergman came home 8^th while Massimo Roccoli finished 9^th. Ondrej Jezek claimed 11^th place.
