The summers are fast approaching and it is maximum in a 2 weeks’ time, the beautiful state of Rajasthan would become literally unsuitable for riding. Not that you cannot ride there in the summertime, but it won’t be a leisure ride for sure! So we tried to make the most out of maximum out of this delayed onset of summer and squeeze a quick ride as far west as possible from Delhi.
Suzuki Motorcycles India was kind enough to give us a V-Strom 1000, a perfectly suitable machine for this ride and the man chosen to ride this beast is Anirban Banerjee. Anirban is an xBhp evangelist from Kolkata. He is a biker, phorographer, musician, and a sound engineer rolled into one. Anirban Banerjee was also the winner of xBhp’s Flickr Rides contest.
Anirban started the ride on the day of Holi and as we type this he has already reached Longewala on the Indo-Pakistan border. Some of you might already know here at Longewala post that the famous battle between India and Pakistan was fought in 1971 in which a handful of Indian soldiers successfully thwarted an attack on their post by Pakistani Army which was supported by tanks and were in much larger numbers than our soldiers. The movie Border was also based on this epic battle.

From here, Anirban will take a U-turn and start his ride back and will go all the way to Himachal Pradesh in search of snow. For now, we’ll leave you with these visuals from this ride.
Update: And here comes the snow part!
