Default Bike stops when accelerating

From 2 days my bike stops when ever I accelrt it. I gave it to SVC, the told may be water is inside and they are not able to open a screw just below the accelrtr wire near engine as its very tight. So they need some time to solve it... What a joke : SVC cant open a screw.
Lets see, I will go this evening to collect it. hope its fine now... Not sure if Pertol wasn't mixed.

Anyone experienced this problem ???

First and foremost thank you Ashish and his brother Nikhil for all the help right from accommodation, food etc. to the help with the bike stuff, gears, everything. It was just wonderful to have all that elder brotherly and friendly support.

Thank you Ketan,Nitin and Tushar with all the help for the ride, route, information. It would have been tougher without your help.

Thank you Rustom,Mayur,Sachin,George Uncle and all xbhpians who helped us. The least I can do is thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It would'nt have been possible without your help and support.

Sorry Karan,Sachin and others for not asking you to join us or later even informing about the ride. The decision was kind of impromptu and we just went ahead with it and came back safe and successful.

Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone’s name here. I am as it is not good in writing logs, please forgive me for the same.

All the details of the ride would be provided in a log soon.(probably when I come back to normal)
Congrats.....:-)

Default Bajaj service sucks

well guys bought a bajaj pulsar 135LS on 23rd feb 2010
one of the worst day of my life ........

early morning i reached the show room to buy the bike as i was fascinated by the way bajaj pulsar 135 beahved really well to my cousin who bought it just 2 days earlier
it gave him mileage of 60
at the same time i was one to rode his bike for initial 15 kms and it was all fine

so reached the showroom on wednesday
i asked them to serve me the latest deleivered bike
but they had only 4 bajaj pulsars delevered within a week
3 red and 1 black
the most new engine and chassis number was already deleivered to my cousin
so i took the second earliest bike from them

looking as stunning as it does
so after all completion of formalities and fixing up of free accessories
the mechanic took a test ride as they are supposed to do it and hand it over to me ....
before starting the bike the mechanic and guard ( who is supposed to mark the gate pass entry ) surrounded me for some tip for the happy moment of buying the bike
i gave 50 to each i.e Rs 100
They filled half liter petrol in it as it is mendatory to do that
Now took the bike in my own control and uttered my Lord;s name before starting it
put the ignition on and self started it
checked all the power buttons brakes and rear lights
when sastsified that it is fine .. said thanks to the mechanic and moved away with my cousin on his 2 days old bike to one of the old temple in nehru place of Lord shiva almost 15 kms away from that show room place
before that i filled 3.10 liter petrol from nearby petrol pump for 180 rupees so that i can see how much it can travel with 1 liter ( 0.5 liter + 3 liter - 2.5 liter reserve ) before going to reserve

well now the problem arised........
within 2 kilometers i felt that there is some issue with the gear shaft
i was able to raise the gears from 1st to 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th
but while i was trying to down the gears it was being like i am in neutral gears
i was supposed to press them 10 times to get them down
well unaware of the likes of some major issue i thought it must be a minor issue and might be as iam not used to this bike , iam not getting proper way of using it
well came back to show room after gettting puja from that temple done

show room mechanice refused to accept that there can be some issue
but when i gave him key to check it
after riding it he confirmed that yes there is some issue

he changed the gear shaft but the problem remains the same
time was 5 pm wednesday 23rd feb 2011
he called me tommorow as the store room is closed on wednesday
the same day i gone to my close frds house to show her my bike
she was damn happy to see that
i drove the bike with her as pillion with much ease
this bike really has a good pick up
i travelled total 85 kilometers with that bike that day
neither the bike's digital meter nor the fuel knob showed any signage that the bike is in reserve
the fuel was still in mains.
it assured me that either it has a engine of a platina 100cc bike or there is some problem in its meter or petrol indicator....

24th February 2011 10.30am

I reached the showroom half hour earlier with my new bike with sadness in heart and heavy guilt in heart ( this feeling can not be expressed in words . this is the same way how u feel when u are really hurt from inside and want to cry but could not do that but your throat gets filled with some thing called sadness )
Well they took the bike to service station in basement and from lift taken it to 2nd floor the official place for erecting the bikes
i insisted to go along with bike but they refused to do that
but i was also more ziddi then them and go with them to service station with the promise that i will not say anything interrupting their work
there were alreay 15-20 newly conditioned bad erected pieces of bajaj bikes there
all having some problems which could let them go to customer hands

well they tried to make my bajaj pulsar work for me but could nt do that easily

lastly they took decision to open the clutch area below the engine
i was already shocked and sad but could not say anything as i promised them not to utter a word there

they opened the cap of the cluthch area ( i dont know what it is actually called as but this is the lower part of the engine .. please see the attached picture to identify that part )
black oil comes out from it ( it get black in just 85 kms ??)
they changed the gear lever and changed the oil as well
The new bike had yellow oil but they filled red oil now insisting that this is the only oil for dts -i engines..

Now the petrol indicator issue
they tried to make me fool that some time a bike can also give mileage of 100kms
i said your company claims 65kmpl and this has alreayd covered 85kmpl with 3.5 liter petrol in its tank without going into reserve
so it means that that one liter above its reserve capacity ( 2.5liter ) is giving me mileage of 85 ?
done kid me guys !
now i forced them to measure the available petrol in the petrol tank to prove it
they emptied the petrol tank and it was containing only 1.6 liter petrol
they told me that still there is around half liter petrol in it which cannot be taken out due to some unknown problem ( i knew they are again making me fool )
Ok i said ! it means there is 2.1 liter petrol in it ?
they said yes
i said now i will fill one liter petrol in it so then how much u people think this vehicle should travel before going to reserve ?
they said 2.1+1liter minus 2.5 liter reserve capacity = 0.6 liter petrol so it should travel around 25-35 kms before going to reserve

ok i said !
they get the vehicled down to road and gave it to me
i filled one liter petrol in it for rupees 60
i drove it on highway within 50kmph level and travelled 50kms without touching reserve either in digital meter
it was still driving on mains

i reached the show room again
now they decided to change the petrol indicator tool inside the petrol tank
they unattached the petrol tank from the body of the bike and changed it ! ( it is a weird looking type tool resembling to some ballon type part of a old coolers which is attached in the water area of a cooler )
now they showed me reserve indicator on the digital meter
Aaah......
i sighed of relief
but still it is working on mains
why ?
they said now it will not
i said no i dnt agree
now one of the technician ws humble so he agreed to go along with me
needless to mention that my petrol tank had less than 2 liter petrol and still it is in mains
so i carried him to pillion seat
he kept on asking that how you can drive so well that your bike is giving you 100kmpl mileage
i said shut up yaar and identify the problem , it cannot go beyond 70kmpl!!
Now i travelled for around 10km with the mains on
it was showing reserve indication in the digital meter but still riding on a mains knob

reached back the show room, the chief technician was wondered what is the problem
now asked the other technician to bring the fuel knob ( it is the same which you rotate to come across mains reserve and fuel off indications , it has two plastice pieces one long for mains and one small for reservee )
they changed it and claimed that the bike is now percect and prepared the job sheet of around 2000 rupees which was infact free for me as it was replaced under warranty ( 2000 for gear shaft gear lever engine oil petrol indicator and fuel knob )
now the head technician took the bike in his hand and with mains only ( again mentioning that bike has less than 2 liter petrol ) drove the bike in 70kmph speed
i was angry to see that as you are not supposed to touch 50 during run on period
now he came back within 10 mins and asked the other technicians to bring 2 other bikes of pulsar 135ls from display
i asked wat happend ?
they said there is still some problem in the petrol tank
ohh i said
now two other new bikes were in front of me
he filled half liter petrol in it and jerked the bike heavily the fuel knob was on main
so it supposed to not leak petrol as it has reserve capacity petrol
but it leaked
then he smiled and looked at me saying look
i said what happend
he said same is happening with this bike too
if you want i can change your petrol tank with a new bike

Now the modesty of mine has been ****ed by them
i scremed what the hell you want to prove ?
I gone inside to the owner of the showroom and asked her to replace my bike
she refused to do that as the bike has already been registerd with the insurance and Registration number has been given to me
but i insisted on replacing my bike
now stand there for almost one hour
all the show room technicians and members got interested in this issue and left their work to know what is cooking around
i gone to show room manager again
but she was talking on phone
she kept talking for 10 mins and i kept standing there
all the people were staring me and i was staring them too with anger
now as she put the phone receiver down
i asked in english Madam are you changing it or not
she said in hindi -- kya ?
" AAP ISKO BADAL RAHE HO YA NAHI "
sir baat samjhiye insurance and registration ho chuka hain ab nahi ho sakta
"YEH LO BIKE KEYS AUR ISKE PAPER AND BIKE BAHAR KHADI HAIN , 60000 KI KHARIDI HAIN
ISKO BECHKE APAS MAIN BAANT LENA.. MUJHE KUCH NAHI CHAHIYE
BAS EK BAAT KA DHYAAN RAKHNA KI MEHNAT KE PAISO SE KHARIDI THI
PEACE OUT "
she was shocked as she was not expecting me to shout like this
i came out of show room and was on the way to go to the bus stand to go back home
suddenly some body shouted " Sir "
The manager was asking me to come back
ok ( i knew that she will )
Sir dekhiye waise it is not possible but now iam calling the owner of this show room ( This show room owner also owns few other bajaj show room as well )
hello .. sir there is a customer...............................
ok sir i will do that but sir .......... OK SIR

now she was talking to me
Sir he has said yes to me but now check the bike to the fullest you can
we cannot change the digital meter as you have already travelled 85+kms in it
so it cannot be reset to 0
Go to warehouse and pick any bike you want
throughly test ride it and take it
later on i will not entertain any thing from you that this is again the fault in this bike

she came out of the shw room and scolded badly to guy who handed over the earlier bike to me without testing it much ( the same guy who took 50 ruppes from me )
also said that there will be salary deduction for the loss to the company caused due to the bike replacement

She called the modest of the technicians to assist me and also to go on test ride with me to satisy me to the fullest
That guy is really a damn good guy
he agreed to the fact that BAJAJ PULSAR 135 LS has gear problems and also fake reserve indication problem!! but the fault i had suffered ( bike running in mains only without jerking even if it has less than 2.5 liter petrol was unusual )
i selected one bike among 20 new bikes
came to show room
petrol exchannge from old bike 1.2 liter ( i was expecting 2 liters )
digital meter exchange
whole new bike except the digital meter
Now he was the pillion and i was the rider
gone to petrol pump with him with the reserve on filled 1 liter petrol
now bike has 2.2 liter petrol much below 2.5 liter reserve capacity
i was supposed to check three things in this new bike which i was facin in the old bike
1. wheter gears are smooth
2. wheter the digital meter shows reserve indicator
3. Wheter the bike keep running in mains with just 2.2 liter petrol

well gears were smooth
digital meter was showing red indication of reserve
but the new bike was still running on mains on

well i took the way of high way and keep riding
My God after 3.5 kms it finally jerked and halted and stopped
i was happy now

as this bike was not causing the same problem

Now since then i again went to Temple for the puja of the new bike
and since then drove 100 kms on it
it is fine now
but i talke to many guys who have this bike that there is some issue with the reserve indication and fuel knob of this bike

the problem is
when the digital meter shows red indicator the bike stills runs in the mains for 5-10 kms before jerking ( i guess jerking is the real proof that the bike has exhausted the fuel in mains and now in real
reserve fuel)
but this is not sure
in fact people said that bike can jerk before showing any red sign of fuel on the digital meter
some have even questioned on the reserve capacity of 2.5 liter clamiing that the bike runs to the fullest 50kms to the max once it is down in reserve
which proves that it has 1 liter usable reserve + 0.9 unusable reserve making it the maximum capacity of 2 liters only

well i am now using my bike with ease and i must say it is indeed a good bike
i do not regret going for it but also pray that it will not let me suffer more for this

Got it done at SVC, they cleaned up the carb and petrol tank. they emptied the petrol tank infront of me and I saw nearly 30-40ml of water at the bottom of the bottle in which petrol was taken. I dont know how so much water was there with the petrol. Its not possible to get it from the bunk as there is no use of mixing water with petrol as it never mixes. may be during washing (still highly impossible) or may be the SVC guy mixed it when I was not there just to get the tank cleaning charge and the actual problem might be very small.. Whatever be the case, I got it done for now. Hope it works well for long.

Am a Very Happy 4 Valve'ian Today. Yes I Am !!! Reason, One of the few things of my Pulsar 135's behaviour which was irritating me all these days is GONE. Almost Gone. Yes !!! The Vibration @ 5K Rmp (60 to 68 KMPH) is now almost gone. I don't know how, but am happy it is gone. May be because, 2 days back, I took him for a ride for 20 Kms in speeds varying between 60 to 68 KMPH not bothering the vibration. Today morning felt a big difference, i.e the vibration almost gone in the sense only very light vibs felt at foot pegs that too only between 60 to 62 KMPH which can be felt only for 2 or 3 seconds.

I would be a Completely Happy 4 valve'ian if the below irritations vanishes off
1. Unable to get the Neutral and 3rd gear most of the time.
2. Downshifting is dragging at times which spoils the timing.

I went thro' the whole write up. That was a very bad experience ravi. Anyways it is very good that you got a replacement and I appreciate for fighting back to get it. Kudos. Would be nice if you could translate those words in hindi

Lol
Well i always try to be modest as i feel that modesty apart from honesty is also the best policy
but yes needed to show my anger to them for getting it replaced
you all know that replacing a vehicle is not that much easy to replace like vegetables or fruits .. after all i got the registration done with a permanent vehicle number along with insurace paper being sent
but i insisted on replacing it or take it back

one thing is to be spread over to other new bike buying guys that
do check your vehicle before getting it
as they will not sell the same vehicle to any novice buyer
