  • Re: Pulsar 135 LS

Hello everyone. After deliberating over and over I finally took the plunge and bought this bike Pulsar 135 LS 2017 model for normal commuting. Before this bike I have ridden only Activa and occasionally TVS star city. So I'm not used to dos and don'ts and how to properly maintain my new bike. I'm all ears if anyone could give me some tips.

My experience in riding this bike for over 100kms is exceptionally good. My only gripe is with the gear pattern. Never rode any bike with 1 down and 4 up pattern. So it became an increasingly difficult task for me to get to the neutral from 1st or 2nd gear. And also after reading the comments in here I came to know that there is a run-in period for new bikes. Should I strictly follow this?

And finally are there any engine belly pans available for this model?

    Thanks in advance!

I was also thinking of retrofitting apache 200v engine guard/hood under my bike if it can be done as i have seen many from Phillipines have fitted other engine guard/hood in their rouser. Reason for choosin of apache 200 4v engine guard/hood is because of it's look.
Don't know weather it will fit or not.
Hi there, did you manage to fit engine guard? I would also like to fit one on my new bike, any suggestions.

      • Neutral indicator always on!

        Hello everyone,

Recently my bike Pulsar 135 has developed a peculiar snag! The neutral indicator always stays on, even after i switch the ignition off. The neutral indicator dims a little on switching the key off, but it stays lit! The light stays on even after removing the ignition switch wires! None of the other lights or accessories run with the switch off. On removing the neutral switch wire the indicator switches off.

Any leads or ideas where this problem may be stemming from?

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

        • Question about Fuel Tank Capacity

Hi all, I am a newbie regarding bikes so spare me if my question sounds ridiculous. I bought a pulsar 135 ls 2017 recently. I'm in love with it as it perfectly suits my daily routine. However, I have some questions regarding tank capacity. Owners manual specifications says it has a total tank capacity of 8L.

Now my question is when I filled my tank up to the brim for mileage calculations, it took more than the said tank capacity by bajaj. Almost 11L. Is it normal? Or my bike broke? Can anyone plz shed some light on this?

Also is it safe to fill the tank up to the brim? Does it have any cons in the long run?

And finally regarding speedometer, is the petrol icon blinking a sign that I need to change the fuel switch to reserve?

          Thanks in advance.

Most fuel bunks sell less than what is actually visible on the meter. Also, most Bajaj bikes will fill more than the company claimed capacity. Just don't fill till a point where it is splashing out of the tank. A little below the brim is okay.

Switch to reserve only when the main runs out. The icon is not 100% accurate but more of a guide!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Bad news folks. Looks like the Pulsar 135 LS has been discontinued, as Bajaj has removed this bike from its website.

Hi. Can anyone guide me on the technique of reaching top speed in my PUL135LS

If acceleration is not a factor.

Is it necessary to redline in each gear ? If I shift to fifth at say 50 km/h (@4000 rpm) and give it enough throttle. will it reach top speed ?

Assuming length of road is not a factor.

Managed to reach 111 km/h on the Speedometer on NH-6 (Bombay Road). No vibrations felt from 0-111. Bike is 1.5 years/13000 km old. Already through 5 services. Engine running as smooth as butter. I am using Motul 3100T since the last service and its just brilliant.

The GPS image of the speed run is attached. Notice the almost linear acceleration as the bike reaches 103 km/h, Actual (111 km/h, Speedo)

Reviving an old and potentially dead thread.

Planning to upgrade from an AS200 to a Pulsar 135.
Any advice anyone on the forum want to offer?

And what are the major niiggles with the 135, in general.

                    • Re: Pulsar 135 LS - Flywheel/Magneto removal tips?

I cannot seem to get the magneto/flywheel off this bike. I got the nut off, and am using a bearing puller but it seems so stuck! Am I missing something? Must anything else except the main nut be loosened??

                      Thanks in advance!

                      • up ancient thread again............

I think many of 135 (and others) experienced voltage regulator capacitor fail during the ownership of this bike. I had same isse few years ago and then I installed new capacitor but it also died few months later. capacitor actually never died. it's positive pin oxidized heavily and then broke pin from cap. reason for this is galvanic oxidization because battery positive is always connected with this cap.

There are issues I faced during the 10 year ownership of Pulsar 135 (2011 mfg)

                        1. Fuel tank rusted. I managed to glue it using epoxy. but lower part of tank already rusted and there is a brown sediment in petrol
                        2. both ignition coil input pin rust. connector very loosed and sometimes can hear spark noise. not high voltage leak.
                        3. chain noise. there is a severe noise when riding bike specially in wet roads.
