          Hey Nin,

I ve been a silent observer on this website for long,
ur saddle score on p135 caught ma attention coz this is the bike i wanna go for i currently ride ma brothers Honda stunner cbf.

People talk about bajaj's quality issue's, what i wanna know from you is.. do you think that this little baby is an exception to the otherwise not so good quality of products made by bajaj in the past.

I ask you this question coz youv had this bike for more than a year now if m not wrong. I love the looks and the VFM factor it has, I hope ur not too busy to reply.
I plan to go either for P135 or the SZR in red.
I m not a stunter, but a city comuter who likes to stay ahead, Ocassionaly, may be 2wice a month go for a long trip (200 to 300 km return trip).

The intention is to book one of these beauties after the ongoing "VARSHA SHRAADH" period.

Hope to c you reply soon.

PS: Any one who has this bike for more than a year, Please leave your valuable replies, thank you guys.

          Regards,

          Raju M.

          • Here's my Pulsar 135 without the rear tyre splitter and the useless saree holder and the luggage/bag hook.

The wax polish is still visible - I was too lazy to clean it off.

Apart from the cosmetic modifications - which involved removing stuff Bajaj provided with the bike(the service center did it for free) and the white reflective rim strips, I added NGK Iridium spark plugs. Totol kharcha = Rs.1100(2 NGK Iridium Spark plugs) + Rs.100 (White rim strips) + Rs.10 (aluminium tyre valve caps) + Rs.20 (new soft cushioned handle bar grips) = Rs.1230

I did a trip from Ahmedabad to Ratanpur in Rajasthan (150 Km one way) along the NH8 yesterday. The total distance was 300 Km. This is my first long trip with the Pulsar 135 after I bought it exactly a month back and with 1100 KM on the ODO, I pushed the bike to its limits and did the return trip in under 5 hours (stopped for 30 mins over the entire stretch of the journey to let the bike cool down). I touched the 120 Kmph + mark quite often and constantly. The bike was very smooth and perfectly stable. No back pain or any other issues whatsoever. This is a brilliant bike!!!
The next trip I plan to do and this time in full riding gear is from Ahmedabad to Mumbai and then to Goa and Mahabaleshwar.

Btw do I need to change the engine oil @ 1500 KM? If yes, what engine oil type (mineral,semi-synthetic), what oil viscosity and what brand should I opt for?

u can change engine oil at 2000KM since the second service is 4k KM..change it to Motul 15w50 mineral oil..or if you dont get that in your area then switch it to castol active xtra 20w50..u can also change the oil filter when changing engine oil..it should cost 30-40bucks..

              • I got myself a black engine guard/belly pan for a Apache from a TVS dealership today for Rs.500. Can this be fit to the pulsar 135? I read somewhere in the forums it is possible.

                • Check out the screen shot attached. Apparently according to bajaj, the stunner comes with a front Drum brake, and only the pulsar 135 comes with a disc brake! lol!

                  - KTM Duke 200

                    • Here's the Apache belly pan/engine guard after the mechanic managed to fit it onto my Pulsar 135:

Pardon the poor image quality, that's because of the custom android rom and poor camera app in my smartphone.

The Honda Stunner belly pan/engine guard is not available in black but only in red, that's what the Honda dealerships told me. The TVS Apache belly pan was the only option I had.

                      • 1000 KM Milestone

Just completed 1000 Kms on my Baby Pulsar. Now its more fun to ride. 45 <60. Till 1000 kms ripped it till 60 only 2 times, I think that wont hurt.

Bike is still butter smooth. gear shifting is flawless when in motion. Big problem finding neutral while standing still .

                        Now the real bad thing.
I did the first free service @ Suryoday Bajaj, Goregaon, Mumbai. I was not willing to do it there but had no choice. Any guesses what they did???

1). Changed the Oil & Oil Filter
                        2). washed the bike.
                        3). Lubed the chain.
                        4). That's it.
I didn't said a word then as i was in hurry. got the bike serviced again after 3 days from my local mech.

I wanted to know one more thing.
The stock headlight is not sufficient for night riding. Can anyone suggest me a replacement. I am totally noob about this. I read somewhere Osram Nightbreaker is a good one. Please advise.

Can you post a photo taken from a distance. That will clearly show how the bike is looking now. And please post the extra parts you needed to fit it.
                          Congrats!

The fitting of the belly pan cost me Rs.150 at a garage specializing in customization of motorbikes.
